Mousetrap: That's the main reason why I asked why they didn't have the ignore feature similar to IYTs.. for the idiots such as that.. and there are several on here that outright abuse the site. They either take on too many games to keep up.. and they power invite and then never play them. I get upset when I watch tourneys that I sign up for and then at last minute they sneak in them.. I usually am having to play against them. It's annoying as all get out..

Mousetrap: It sounds like the same experience I had and sounds like the same individual.....She sent me numerous invites to play and I accepted several of them.....of which she resigned after the first move....She turned around and then sent me more invitations. After consideration that she may have had a problem with her games, I went ahead and accepted....I don't like to hurt anyone's feelings.....needless to say she resigned again in the same manner. Then more invites.....I refused.....I will not accept any of her invites anymore or play in any of the hundreds of tournaments that she has posted on the tournaments page.

Snoopy: It is a nusience. I can still read messages in Fellowships from someone who I have on block. They were not rude or anything just sent me game after game request than resigned after the first move. This person currently has resigned thousands of games. I once sent a message asking why they were sending me game invites then resigning without try. No answer. The only conclusion I came to was that they were either a kid or an idiot and I put them on block. It would be nice if we could not see any messages from them at all.

Subject: rude behavior
Hello. I just started a hypergammon game with an opponent I've never met before. I wished her "good luck" in English on my first move. She replied in French "shut up ........" (the third word had probably a typo in it). I said nothing thinking I had probably misunderstood or my opponent was not fluent in French but in the next move the message was "le petit con" ("the stupid jerk"). Is this normal and acceptable behavior here?

why are they still allowed to send public friends request?

and also once youve refused them could we also have someway to block future requests from them please

Subject: Re: A pawny question
coan.net: Correct, although there is no need for a check now as Pawns are removed from Teams automatically, BUT sure, once a Team is signed up, that is how they stay.

Hopefully, if Fencer gets time, while designing BK 3.0 ( 'Manatee' as i have named it, all good projects need a name ) there will be a system for substituting players or even just replacing them BEFORE any games are started. Maybe at the Tournaments waiting to be started stage it could check for Pawns and notify Team Captains or Bosses if any show up. I think also it should check to see that all players are active, say just last 2 weeks and also inform those involved.

Of course the ultimate is to be able to substitute players before any moves by that player have been made

Anyway, who likes 'Manatee'? ....... people think that the manatee is just a big, ugly creature, but actually the manatee is the most harmless and graceful of all the big animals....... i think that should define the next BrainKing

Roberto Silva: I'm pretty sure (well 90% sure) that once a fellowship team is signed up for a team tournament (both Fellowship vs. Fellowship & Site team tournament) - it will run with the player who might drop down to a pawn level before the tournament starts.

(The "check" happens when the team is put into the tournament I believe.)

... again, not 100% sure.

SL-Mark: Its is a odd point really.

Once a player becomes a Pawn they are removed from the Teams within any Fellowships they are in, but have to be removed from the Fellowship by the Boss (or Little Boss). So in other words they can not join any upcoming Team Tournaments / Challenges.

BUT as i say, if they are already in a Team Tournament / Challenge that has started, they will carry on playing in that.

MadMonkey: Thank you.
Wasn't really thinking about myself. Essentially then, a pawn cannot play in a team tournament. Your caveat understood.

Yes, my membership will be up for renewal at the start of next year. Hopefully Fencer will have another bonus run over Christmas

Subject: Re: A pawny question
SL-Mark: NO, a Pawn can not join a Fellowship.

ONly Bishop, Knight or Rook (and those higher of course). If you have joined and your membership runs out, you are still in that Fellowship until you are removed.

Also, if you are in a Team, in a Tournament or Match at that time, you will still carry on playing even though you are a Pawn.

Subject: A pawny question
Is it possible for a pawn to join a fellowship? Asking as I believe this is the only way team tournaments can be played, i.e. between fellowships.
In other words, what I am really asking is, can a pawn play in a team tournament?
