MrWCF: Hanaslang is based on several dialects spoken in the eastern half of the Czech Republic, in particular on the one spoken in the region of Haná - hence the name. More than a serious localization, the purpose and goal of the Hanaslang version of BK was creating somewhat funny alternative to the original Czech version. :)

I notice that one of the supported languages on BrainKing is Hanaslang.  Can anyone tell me more about this language?

AbigailII & Czuch: lol .. i wish we had :)

the weekend takes away 2 days .. i usually play within 1 day (and most of the times much faster) but i prefer to have 2 days left per move when i log out ... so if the weekend doesnt count then i need 4 days per move when i leave on friday

monday is usually a busy day at work so i make less moves then

Maybe thats why Netherlands is one of the highest ranked places to live in the world, 3 day weekends

It allows you to see all those who sit at the top of the ratings list with a BKR of 2500+ despite the fact they have only played and won 4 games against low rated BKR players!

AbigailII: personally i do need the weekend days ... most of my playing i do from work (mostly in my breaks :)) .. in the weekends i will be busy and might not be able to come online

during the working days (mon till fri) i might be a fast player, but in the weekends i am quite slow

then again i dont mind slow games .. i just would miss it to be able to join tournaments with 3 days per move .. without weekend days thats not possible for me

Fencer: i agree, the simpler the system the better

adjustable weekenddays give me some extra vacation days per year (by setting them the most profitable when i leave) .. although i agree thats a bit of an abuse of the weekend days :)

the problem i had today though is that i didnt change anything in the settings (neither calendar or any other) .. i just viewed them to see if i could set my weekend back to sat & sun again .. i didnt change anything .. but now most of my games will try to timeout while i am asleep (i will use an extra vacation day to prevent that so i wont worry :))

i dont know what other could have caused it than me viewing the calendar settings

another funny thing is that every hour (i think) each game which was in the negative became 2 days less negative .. so i started at -16 days .. an hour later some were -14 .. and hour later some were -12 .. and now most are within 1 day or even positive

sat & sun for the weekend is best for me .. but thats just me personally of course

Fencer: Even simpler would be to get rid of weekends. Which, IMO, are a bit silly - if you need them you can always pick a time pace that allows not playing in weekends. But weekends prevent you from picking a time pace that forces "fast games" -- with weekends, you cannot play a game where you have to move at least once a day; it becomes 5 times a week. (Currently, you can pick a time pace that says "no vacation days, no weekends" and "no vacation, but weekends", but "no weekends, allow vacation" isn't available. The latter would have been my pick).

Hrqls: The system is to be rewritten anyway, so I would not take it as a big issue. However, it can make problems if someone changes the weekend days because the system does not remember previous settings, of course.

I think the main problem is that the vacation system is already too complicated, as a result of attempts to satisfy all requests of improvements in the past (and some of them had been kind of ridiculous, so to speak). The system is planned to be a little easier in the future - for instance, it is not absolutely necessary to make the weekend days adjustable, so they will be probably set to Saturday and Sunday for everyone.

ok i have the problem as well

i just came back from my vacation .. i have today set as a vacation day .. i logged in and noticed some games had a few hours left .. the rest more than a day .. i made my moves in the game which had less than a day time left ..

everything is fine ... all my games have more than 1 day left and tomorrow (when i am awake) i can make the rest of the moves

i then went to my calendar settings ... i did change nothing .. i went back to the main page .. and now quite some games have -16 days time left

this looks weird .. and scared me a bit .. i will see what happens .. i have 23 vacation days left for the rest of the year and automatic vacation days on .. so if i have 22 vacation days tomorrow .. then 1 was taken away automatically by these negative times (although today was already set as a vacation day)

ughaibu: CHROME is a Browser released by Google.

It is getting quite popular, and is pretty fast (like Safari lol) but will never be as versatile as FF. I use it for playing Farm Town on Facebook lol

I am looking into the BrainKing site problem, as in relation to Firefox 3.5 as i do not think it is only site

I normall have 2 Tabs open on Facebook, sometimes when i go there, the chat box says i timed out and have to Login again, other times it just logs me out straight away or when i refresh the page

I do not get that here though, but then rarley do i use a Browser to access BrainKing now

I will have a look on the Mozilla blog and see if anything is mentioned

MadMonkey: I am afraid there is something strange with Firefox 3.5 because it happens to me too. No matter which web sites I visit, after a couple of hours the browser starts to consume 50% (or more) CPU even if it is idle. A Firefox restart usually helps, until it starts again.
It never happened with previous versions of Firefox.

Subject: Re:
ughaibu: Is it just not brainking you are having problems with ?

If it is everything then it is a problem lol. Is your computer old ?

Is there any chance of doing a System Restore ?

If you have re-installed Firefox AND still having problems logging here, or getting on the web i doubt it is Firefox. East thing to do as Rose say is try another Browser (preferably no IE lol). Chrome is a good choice.

If it is still problems with the web, it is either your connection or the pc. Connection you would have to talk to your provider providing you are sure your end is set up correctly.

PC problems could be endless, if it was ok, and now it is not, then it is case of finding out what. Which is a process of Elimination. IF you have no System Restore point all you can try is the things you should run regually anyway.
First thing to do is make sure all your virus protection is up 2 date, and run that. Run which ever system cleaner you use. Run Scan Disk. Run a Registry cleaner (Eusing do a good FREE one). Lastly Defrag it.

If you had some sort of error message it would be useful

Use Prism, by Mozilla. It runs a website as an Application rather than through a browser

Saying that i can not think what is causing your Firefox problem, if it is a Firefox one

The site hasn't been letting me in until I hit the log in button 2-4 times, for about some small number of days. I thought this was because I installed a Skype update before closing the Firefox. But I've now thorown away both Skype and Firefox and after retrieving the Firefox I have the same story. Should I throw my computer through a window or should I tolerate a novel log in feature?

Its is VERY nostalgic as you say, i think even Filip would say so. The site has come a long way in 7 years, and do you notice, when a post went on the bored he nearly always responded straight away , he just does not get time not. I doubt then he though it would of got so big, and hopefully with the new revamped version, it will get BIGGER & BETTER.

Lots of old names and faces i have been reminded of since going through these. First games asked for were Cribbage & Dominoes . It is amazing how many things that have been asked for have been added since the start. It would be great to see the site code then , compared to now lol

Well, 3,000 posts down, 12,000 to go........or something like that lol *1116^

It is a funny old world is it not ?

Just a thought as i am working my way through things for Fencer to think about for the new BrainKing. It is amazing since Brainking started how much it has changed. The amount of requests that have already been implemented, all by Filip himself of course.
Some of the names of people that were here in the first few months, along with those of us still here. It sort of bring back happy memories in a strange way.
How odd the site was then, we did not even have Backgammon OR Boats, and how it has grown.

Let us hope, with brainking 3.0 being developed, it can carry on improving & growing

Tuesday: I think that's because that right got taken along time ago. that they were banned from posting in fellowship, pming, and quite a few other things and each time saying "I'm sorry, I'm a good guy" ... and ... "I'm the no.1 flamer" don't give rise to much confidence. And that many a 'flamer' (to use a term) and non flamer think this person goes overboard... hence the confusion.

I do appreciate the problem though, and you have more important things to do than chase people and try to prevent them from doing such things.

I wonder if there is away to track account set-ups. You can only hide so much, from people if they want to find out this sort of information. I was only ready a news article the other day about all the latest Proxy's and get rounds, and even using Proxy's there are some sites like Facebook, Gmail, Twitter that give all this info away

Other matters, are common knowledge. So, in respect of those items which do not belong on a public board I gave you "some gibberish."

And with respect if you knew this "some gibberish." you'd find it strange that this person is let back on... even stranger is the nature of the account formation after the fact that the creator is supposed to against this person and making promises over helping this person.

And Roberto Silva last paragraph has much substance. Many people are stopped from entering the UK over using false documents despite previously being denied visas. And can be liable to criminal prosecution as well as immediate deportation.
