i may be wrong but shouldn't you be able to move two different pieces if a six is thrown, as the other would be the re-roll in the board game of the version. i think this would add a greater dymnamic to the game as it does the original at the moment its a bit....well...i dont know but it just doesn't feel right

Modified by Rotceh (29. March 2006, 10:18:20)
Hi there.
I have played the "Maharajah Chess" in this site for the first time and I dont know if there are some enthusiast here but playing as white is a bit boring.
Nevertheless I remember we used to play a more interesting chess variant (in my opinion) called: "Monster chess".
'm not sure if it is possible to suggest new games for the site, if thats the case my vote goes to it.
Here is a link in wikipedia about the game:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_chess
Enjoy the games.

Modified to fix link

mctrivia: I remember this as well. However, you couldn't roll again on the one, just six. But you could bring a piece out on a one. And I also like the idea of being able to split the six and whatever roll between two pieces. I could save a ton of 'pass'es with these implemented. :D

jurek: Part of "the game" is clicking the "move" button. I think once you've moved a "take back" takes away from the game. In many games, someone has to make a weaker move for the other to win. I've made a few blunders myself and would like to have had them back. But probably wouldn't have asked. it just doesn't seem right.

I would love to see the ability to request a move "undo" from your opponent. It has happened to me many times that I make a move, only to notice an hour or 5 later that it was really bad.
Perhaps this could be an option in the new game creation parameters?

I remember this game playing slightly different as a kid would be cool to have another variant.

1) Rolling 6 or 1 will get you out
2) Get to roll again if you roll a 6 or a 1
3) Consective rolls do not need to be done on the same piece. Can use 6 to get out then use next move on a different piece to move.
4) 4 players if possible.

رضا: lets say for example you come to a game and see a message like "I know what you mean, that's too funny!" But you don't remember what you wrote and what they are referring to, so a quick look at the top message will show you what you said that they are replying to, instead of having to scroll the whole way to the bottom to see what it was you said. But I can see that sometimes you might want it the other way as well!

alanback: The way it is now, you have the newest message on top, and as you move down, you hav ethe previous messages. So the line you read first is the answer to te line below it. Bt do you read a normal conversation from the end to the beginning?

So if the oldest message stands on top, and the newer ones go below it, instead of above it, when you read the whole message archive, you can easily follow the conversation as you read it from top to the bottom.

I'm not sure if I can fully express what I mean. Just take a look at a game of yours with a few lines of message, and you'll see it's hard to read the message archive from down to up!

Thanks to the very nice additions to the site, I'd like to see that the messages written in games, would be shown at the bottom of the page from down to up, meaning the first post is on top, then the reply and so on. This will be a lot easier to follow if after a few turns one wishes to go back through them. Thank you.

Could we get an option to have only a portion (say, last ten) of the moves list shown. It's a big pain to look up the last move when I'm over 100 moves into a game (as is common in espionage and happens in other games too).

PS: I second Nothingness's request for volcano-free espionage games.
