Subject: Messages for Captains
I know this has been asked for a couple of times, but i would like to refresh Fencers memory, now we have all these lovely new Team Tournaments

In Fellowships where we have - 'Send a message to all fellowship members' could we have one under it to 'Send a message to all fellowship Captains' please Fencer ?

It will be so helpful

Subject: Better BKR, done by committee (GASP!)
I know there are many people who feel that the formula used to calculate BKR, while fine for chess, simply doesn't work for many other games here at BrainKing. In a pure skill game like chess, the better player will win a high percentage, let's say 90%. In backgammon, the better player might win only 65% of the time. Because the formula is expecting chess-like winning percentages it doesn't work so well for Backgammon. In Pente variants, the player who goes first wins 52-57% of the time. This is due to an advantage that Player 1 has. That advantage should be incorporated into the BKR formula. I can't speak about other games, but I'm sure there are more examples.

However, I'm sure Fencer has neither the time nor the interest in developing and implementing formulas for each family of games. On the other hand, I'm sure there are many players (including me) who would enjoy researching and developing some new formulas. Perhaps, like was done with moderators, the job of coming up with the best formula(s) could be passed along to members of the BrainKing community!

So, my feature request is...

Separate BKRs by game type (i.e. one for chess types, one for backgammon types) and committees to review, discuss, and recommend the proper formula to Fencer for each game type. I suppose a formula could be developed for each game individually, but let's take it one step at a time. ;-)

Separate formulas for each game type would at least be a huge step in the right direction. I would be happy to join a committee for both Pente and Backgammon. With the fellowships and discussion boards already in place, this idea could be up and running in no time.

Subject: Behemoth & Juggernaut Chess
Fencer, are you thinking about Juggernaut Chess at all ? (as it is almost the same as Behemoth Chess)

I like the idea of the random direction including a 'No Move' and a 'Teleport' selection, as well as the 8 normal directions.

Behemoth is great fun, BUT can be over in 1 move as you mention in your blog.

With the Juggernaut rules at least there is a small chance he may not move sometimes, need to slow the Beastie up somehow lol

Can these pieces be displayed somehwere, please? Maybe on the side of the board. Or on a separate row, by the captured pieces, like in Recycle Chess, where you also have two sets of pieces that haven been removed from the board...

Could you add all the pieces we play with to the Smileys please Fencer

Fencer, in Fellowships, on the main page where all our challenges are, could we have the list of RUNNING ones so they can be sorted by Name, Opponent , Game type, Match type & Creator please (well really only Opponent, Game type & Creator to make it simple)

I like to keep track of all the Madhouse ones, but there are so many it is hard to see which Teams have matches going or not

thankyou

Any chance that it's slowing down my moves load time? Last couple days, the pages load immediately, but I'm getting an hourglass for a couple seconds every time I make a move or click a box to go elsewhere in games. I'm using Firefox (of course) & on broadband

Subject: Tournament standings
When I look at ongoing tournaments, it's very difficult to know the standings. Reason is some finished few games, some have already finnished all games.

For this reason, I would like an extra column where % of max or someting like that is presented.

At the moment, when you hover over the membership level of someone you get (Fencer, Czech Republic, White Brain King(forever), Male), for example.(would be better over the name though lol)

Presumably it get this information from the profile.
If so could it also pick up the persons actual name, if they have added one.
I often write messages to people, but a lot of the time i can never remember there proper names as i know so many people after 5 years here, i tend to forget lots of the ones i do not talk to often

Its just nice to be polite i think

What would be better, is if we could some how link that hover to the description box in our friends list.
That way if they do not show there name publicly we could have it in there along with any other nice info you may have on that person (family, work etc...) and would all be shown just by hovering over there name or membership level

Great for when talking to someone and even better if that could be a clickable link back to the decription box,. Then if they mention something interesting we could click and go and add it to there description

Subject: stairs
On each person's Profile page there is a link for stairs, that leads to a list of one's own stairs that they are involved in.

I request that a dot appear to the left of the type of stairs that a player is currently playing a match on. That way, one can quickly look at their Stairs list and see which stairs they are currentlly not actively playing on.

This is helpful in making it easier for each player to keep active on the stairs.

For those members who support other members could we get an automated message when the person whose membership we are sponsoring is about to expire (say 2 or 3 days).

It would be very handy for those who sponsor Bishops (mainly) and wish to renew it for that person before it expires

I have found a couple that are too polite to mention it to me

Thad: I did ask once before for something similar.

As we can turn of Fellowship messages from Big Bosses, it would also be nice to be able to turn off game over messages either totally or just part of incomplete games ones off.

Also, in Team matches, when the match is over it would be nice if all members of the Team got a result message

Subject: Message Subjects
Fencer,

Can you change the subjects of game notices so that when a match is over, it's different from the message I get when just one game within a match is over.

Let's say I want to challenge someone who I play frequently. It's really hard to sort thru all my undeleted messages to find the one that's from the end of a match. And that's the easiest place to start a new game invitation, so it would be nice if those emails were easy to spot.

So in one sided games (Mancala, Cheversi etc...)
If both players win a game, it would be a draw, BUT use the points scored to donate the winner overall.

Subject: Tie Games
It would be nice if we had an option when creating games that if a game or match was a tie then you would play a tie breaker.

*If playing a odd multiple game match and you tie then you would switch colors then play one more game.
*If playing a even multipl game match then you would keep playing 2 game matches until one of you win a match or you offer draw to aponent.
