Matarilevich: That's precicely what Fencer is doing. In Chess, white moves first. In Shogi, Go, Pente, Checkers, etc black moves first. And so on and so forth.

Subject: Black starts the game
Modified by Kili (13. April 2006, 16:25:15)
I think it´s not a good idea. I can not imagine a game of chess with the white as black and viceversa. In this case, would the colour of the squares change too? If it doesn´t change then the queen black would be on a white square and the white queen on a black square with the current colour squares and in the other case then the right square of the corner it´d be a black square.

I think if it´s not possible a specific solution for each kind of game then it´s better the white starts always the game than playing with the colours changed.

Let me help fencer, if I might
His lame excuses make us fight
We can forget all the rest
What Francoir said is the best
The system wont support our plight
Alas we must give up this fight :(

The only thing left to improve this site
Is to impliment autopass with all his might
But if autopass has no system support
I will be defeated and have no retort

No matter the outcome
Here's a sure bet
Brainking's the best games site
Anywhere on the net!

Subject: Re:
Groucho: hey :) i sended to Filip a list with over 20 request including the one u asking now here it is my list wich later was update with more request like 10 more :
ok here is the list :
1) go to next game where most moves have been made
2) go to next game of team vs team
3) fix please my tourneis numbers
4) italian checkers
5) russian checkers
6) poddavki or give away checkers(russian checkers but to lose)
7) 3 moves pre set for italian and regular checkers
8) a page of statistic for the teams
9) cards games (hearts and /or spades)
10) invent or modify simple cards games (i have one in italian calls scopa wich means sweap play with 40 cards 10 for each suit where from 1 to 10 the most cards gets by adding the other cards like if i have 3 and there are 1 and 2 on table i get all and do sweap all ) maybe u could do that with 13 cards of poker and do a game to 7 points by giving 1 point for the one who has most hearts cards ,1 point for the queen of hearts etc (that is where u have to personalize ) of course must see what is the support of software in this case
11) must have a word game ( i suggest u ask pergioco for help )
12)must have a puzzle game maybe the now famous su doku (like each players put on his turn a number)
13)sports game to play vs opponent
14) look (i am sure maybe u have already) on pogo, on gamestalks , on ludonet ,on kurnik , on iwin , on hardwoodhearts , on msn gaming zone,on yahoo,on clik.to/Abstrakta ,on vog .
this is for now :)
he answered me about your request and said that it couldn't have been done because is not supported by the system ..
i know is bad (and no one hate that more than me since i play over 2200 games) so lets hope that maybe ludo could be lets say updated to avoid the stall ? :)

Some may say I have no class
To request again for autopass

But perhaps its time is finally here
cuz getting stuck in Ludo, my greatest fear

It's one pass, two passes, three passes, four
Another pass???? I can't take it any more!!

Me and my opponent had passes all week
If you don't believe me, go take a peek.

So now Mr Fencer, if your answer is no,
I'll fully understand, and start playing go

Let's hear your answer, please take your time,
But whatever you write, it must be in rhyme.

;)

BIG BAD WOLF: Thats what I was wondering... I thought I read something on the brainking board about the "last action" being hidden? I have been asking for it to be disabled because I dont like it being used in pond games, I think if somebody is using cloak mode the "last move time" should be invisible to them. Has anything been changed or did I miss read something?

Czuch Chuckers: It has always been like that. I have had my cloak mode on for the past few months, and I see either "cloak mode" for other players with cloak mode, or "disabled when you are cloaked"

Some fellowships have LOTS of members. Every once in a while, I wonder if a specific person is a member of the fellowship. Since they are in the order they joined, it is very difficult to search. It would be nice to either add a search feature or sort the list my membership level (Big boss, manager, member) then name.

alanback: Well, I don't see a link to turn it off. I would really like the ability to turn off these advertisements. Every other site lets paid members hide/get rid of advertisements. I would even be happy if I could place it somewhere else.

Brainking is a GREAT site (thanks Fencer). But there are two main issues I have with it.

First...Sabotage hasn't been finished! EVERY other game lets you see captured/lost pieces! This is crucial to Sabotage...

Second...Annoying adds ABOVE my fellowships list.

when you click the options...it says like go to next game,go to next game of this type,go to next game with this player,etc...it would be nice to have the option of go to game with least amount of time,or something to that effect of wording,so that when I am trying to get those games caught up I don't have to go to the main page everytime.

Subject: Re: Statistics
grenv: not usually done on perpose. It just depends what kind of rounding formula is used on the random table. Most random formulas generate a number between 0 and 1 you then multiply that up to get a number between say 0 and 5. Add 1 and you 1 to 6 but if you round the numbers to the nearest whole number you will get 2 to 5 being more likely and 1 and 6 being not as often.

Subject: Re: Statistics
Fencer: Because I am currious. I have seen many random number generater algeritherms that have lower probability on the extreme values. I.E. 1 and 6. Ideally after several million roles they should be pretty close to falling 16% of the time. If they don't a simple fix to the lower odds of falling on the extremes is to randomly chose between 0 and 7 and re role if 0 or 7 comes up.

If one roll appears to be more used than the other ones, someone would jump and cry "the dice are not fair!". And it will start another endless discussion and argument.
