by mistake I turned off the info site while trying to go read the rules of the new game...3 times I have manually typed in the info URL and 3 times my computer has frozen...any help?

It does not appear it can be set up though. It has to be introduced somehow and if you had not been going through Stats at the time, you would probably never had noticed it UNTIL Fencer releases it fully

(oh, it should in theory say 109 games, because if you change the URL to 255 it lets you set a Random game up)

It is only in testing mode, and isn't intended to be played yet. That's why it's not completely "public"

When I look at the Statistics page, a I filter the averages to only those who played every game (1/1 # of games) then I see they should have 108 established BKR's to fit the filter. If you count the numbers at the new game pages together, you come to 107.

That can be only one thing, there's somewhere a game hidden! But where? And what will it be? A Ludo/Jungle proposal? A cool Chess variant (please let it be Knightmating, Ultima or Superschaak) or FINALLY International Checkers ;) ?

9-11 year kids are playing RuneScape or somthing like that.

My parents don't even know about my internet surfing behavior.

nodnarbo: i totally agree - i was talking in reference to families that play together - im going to guess that there arent many 9-11 year old kids that have found this site on their own and play independently of mom and dad - maybe im wrong - but anyway - i was talking about the scenario where a parent that plays here and gets their child involved....

other than that scenario - id have no use for the new chat option...

redfrog: heh, my parents have no idea what I do on this site, all they know is that I play too many games than is good for me they also know I have some sort of paid membership that I paid for myself, but have no idea how much it set me back. Honestly I don't think most parents would be able to figure it out unless of course they played here themselves.

regardless of all other uses - i think the new chat option would be a great safety feature for parents with kids who play here....

I could again repeat myself how only sometimes I don't have access to my keyboard... or repeat myself on how I normally send an opening game greeting..... coan.net: Thats nice, and this extension makes it even easier, not to mention, you can make more options for you as well! Why waste time going to your profile or notepad everytime you want to paste soemthing into a game note???


BTW, how do you find time to unbury your keyboard when you need to use it for a discussion board, but cant seem to do it when playing games? Please... maybe you could make life simpler for the rest of us mortals?

  

Czuch: I've already said how I make a "Good Luck & Have Fun! ☺" - I go to my profile, copy and then paste. It's not a top priority for me to do during a game, but like I said - i try to do it since I have found it makes some people happy.

coan.net: Its ironic because you seem to be able to find your key board plenty when it comes to playing on the discussion boards, but when it comes time to play your games, all of a sudden it is buried too deep to make a decent "hello" or "good luck"????

Anyway, I have offered you a nice way to say hello without using your key board, but I wonder if it was merely an excuse, or if you truly care to give any time to a greeting in your games?

The above link is a great firefox extension that will take care of the problem for most people. who like me and BBW, dont have access to our key boards for one reason or another..... dont let the name fool you, I put in a few different greetings, for example good luck, or congrats great game, I even paste in greetings in different languages, then they are all just one click away from being pasted into any message box!!!!

(the only problem I have is that when I say hello to someone in their native language, I end up having to try and explain that i dont really speak their language!)

Anyway, instead of taking advantage of this "new" option to remove chat options, try this extension instead, like doolittle says, its only a common courtesy!

I think to type good luck/good game etc. is common courtesy. We are all here to play games but I don't take them so seriously that I can't extend a greeting to my opponent. Sometimes a little thing like that can bring a smile to someone's face and it only takes a couple of seconds.
