Subject: Scrabble
It's totally illegal to play scrabble online without permission. That doesn't mean it isn't done, but it would be a big risk for a reputable site to take, hence it is not on yahoo! or Microsoft zone.
Changing it enough to get around the copyright is possible but likely would be unsatisfactory for true Scrabble fans.

usually the rating changes a little, unless the gap is huge. In this case I had about 1800 vs 2100. I would have expected 1800 to go up a little and 2100 to come down...

still doesn't answer my question. Do draws not count towards the rating? Why not?

Subject: Ratings
On two occasions I have drawn matches against players with significantly higher ratings and my rating wasn't affected at all. I would have expected to go up slightly? Can someone explain these ratings a little better?
:)

I assume you mean because you gammoned your opp. However this is not a real backgammon match, as it would be with the doubling cube. With your logic you would be creditted with 2 wins every time this happened which is not the case.

I agree a pro version with the doubling cube would be a great addition.

i just meant that coming out and searching is quicker than using the drop list when there are a lot of games, so I wouldn't want that option to become more difficult by itself being buried in a drop list.
"Move and go to game list" is my most used button. If I had a slower connection it might not be i guess, 2 refreshes instead of one, but they are instantaneous on cable modem.

I find it easier and quicker to click the goto game list, and then click on the game i want to play, rather than search a drop down. Drop downs seem to lose their value if there's more than 5 or 6 values. Just my 2c, and my usability lab agrees with me!

me neither. I didn't know i won the 5-in-line or the backgammon. Too lazy to check I suppose, lol.

Subject: 2 game sets
I agree with Dmitri King on the 2 game sets. I think this is one of the good aspects of iyt. Also individual games in a multi game match should count. The exception to this should only be if the games affect each other, as in a backgammon match that uses the doubling cube.

Harley,

If your connection is slow it's not your PC. AOL is slow because it's using a phone line. Cable can be as much as 50x faster depending on where you are.

How about if a player has the option of passing, or "auto-passing". The latter would allow the opponent to keep playing.

That seems a little strange. Can anyone else verify that.

Subject: Ratings
Why does the system wait until the end of a match to update the ratings? Is each game considered separately? If so the ratings should update intra-match.
