 Feature requests

Do you miss something on BrainKing.com and would you like to see it here? Post your request into this board!
If there is a more specific board for the request, (i.e. game rule changes etc) then it should be posted and discussed on that specific board.

For further information about Feature Requests, please visit this link on the Brainking.Info site : http://brainking.info/archives/20-About-feature-requests.html

Or, if you don't want that information on your main page all the time, the address for the page is:

http://brainking.com/en/TopMovers

Either remember it or put it in your notepad. :-)

playBunny: That information really isn't thrown away right at midnight. If you click on "more..." where it shows the person who made the most moves yesterday, on your main page, it will show you the entire list of all rooks/knights who moved that day, with the number of moves they made. So you can view this information for 24 hours. (As long as in settings you have it checked off to show that information at the top of your page.)

Please, let's not re-start a debate on cloak mode!
Let's keep to requesting features. Thanks! :-D

playBunny: As far as copying & pasting, until something like your request happens, using notepad for what you describe is great. (You probably already realize that! :-D .. This is more for those who might not have thought of it) My notepad is mostly filled with messages/descriptions that I use frequently.

No, the edges are "connected", so basically no edges..
Oh, I see what you are saying.. I guess it would be more "cylindar line 4". Only the sides connect, not top and bottom. (Another site has this variant).

I'd like sphere line 4!

It would be cool if there was a link on each stair you are in, showing you all games (and who they were against), you have played in that specific Stairs.

Personally, I think playBunny hit the nail on the head on his post 3 down..

At this point however, this topic needs to stop. Fencer has made it immensely clear that he has no plans to change this.

Thanks.

Please... type "autopass" in the search box on this discussion board, and you can probably find Fencer's reasons. It is futile to go on about it. Let's move on please. :-)

Subject: Delete and go to next message.
In the message box, I think it would be nice to have a "Delete and go to next message" button. Currently when you delete, you go back to your inbox.
Then, when there is no "next" message it could take you to the main in-box..

It really NEEDS to be the last post on this subject now. Please continue the backgammon conversation on the backgammon DB.(A link to help ya get there, even!) Fencer knows our wishes and will do it when he gets to it.

Further posts on this board about this will be deleted.

Please don't make us do that! :-D

Subject: Monthly Summary of Requests.
When I get time, I will go through the requests and put all that have come in, in September in one post, and post a link to that post at the top of this page.

This will serve 2 purposes:
a) It will be "one spot" for Fencer to look over past requests, without scrolling through "chatter".
b) people will see what has already been requested (if they care to check)

I may not get a chance to do this until the weekend, so if anyone wants to help out and do a good deed, they can send me a PM with a summary of the requests.
I will start keeping an on-going list in my notepad, so that future months can go up immediately at the end of that month.

Most of us backgammon lovers agree that this bug needs to be fixed. Fencer certainly knows this. Can we please keep the bulk of that conversation on the backgammon DB now?

Thank you.

Subject: Going to next game that doesn't use days off..
I'm not sure what the best wording would be, but I would like an option added to the "move and go to" drop down menu, that would take me to the next game that doesn't use days off.. (Any game with a red dot by the time left)
Sometimes if I don't have time to make many moves, I would like to move on those first (and fisher clock ones..)

Again.. I don't know what would be the best way to word it on the drop down menu..

Subject: Multi player battleboats
Goldtoken's implementation of up to 6 player Battleboats works too. (And timeouts don't have that bad effect, mentioned) But, I suppose it would be good to have a version, different from theirs.
On theirs, all the boards are on one page, and on each person's turn, they take one shot on each board (except their own, of course!), and then it moves to the next person.

grenv: It wasn't advertised as being a fast tournament of Espionage. It was a tournament of the game Fast Espionage. (Which is only called "fast" because you get 4 moves per turn, instead of 2.)
22 day time limit is far from fast! lol

If the final round is only 1 section, how could 2 players in that section never have played each other?

21. August 2005, 21:11:03
rod03801
I agree that a short discussion should probably be acceptable. Shorter especially, if it is a game rule sort of request, where the game has its own discussion board. No moderator made a big deal about the short discussion that followed the espionage request. A request was simply put forth (with a link, I might add) to continue the discussion on the Espionage board. That shouldn't be a big deal. However, the ensuing discussion of the request to move, is not appropriate on this board at all. Can we please now continue on with Feature Requests. Thank you.

If you would like to discuss the moderating issue, please PM Bry or I. Any further discussion of this moderating issue will be deleted. Thank you.

21. August 2005, 15:47:30
rod03801
As Bry stated, the initial request was certainly fine here. He simply requested that the ensuing discussion take place on the Espionage board. It is easy enough to make a post with a link to that board so that people that "only visit this board" can easilly go to that board and see the discussion. This is NOT the place to argue about where it should be. That can be done by PM. Thank you.

Subject: Message when tournies are over.
Fencer, would it be possible to send out messages to everyone entered in a tournament, when the tournament ends? (Like with the ponds)
Once I am done in a tournament, I tend to forget about the tournament, and never find out who ended up winning it. I love that feature with the ponds.

I agree with Pedro...

In a game like anti-reversi, the pool of players isn't very large at all, and I end up playing the same people many times. (Especially since I prefer playing people in the top 10) I don't like the idea of my games against these people not counting for much.

Daonschek: Here is the link to your started games:

Actually, I had it backwards anyways. What Czuch describes is the Simple Majority.. not the majority..

But anyhow, lets work this back to whatever the feature request was...

What was it?? I forget now.. lol

4. July 2005, 16:34:31
rod03801
Right. USA absolutely has the majority of players.. (For now! lol) ... But no one has the simple majority.

4. July 2005, 16:29:45
rod03801
Actually, Czuch is correct. That number IS the majority. Go to Google and check out the difference between Majority and Simple Majority. A SIMPLE majority is the the term for having more than half.

Subject: Re: 2 requests
If we do get the ability to stop receiving Fellowship messages, I hope we will be able to choose which fellowships we don't want to receive messages from, I'd rather not see a "blanket" blocking. Some Big Bosses send out more messages than others.
Maybe put an option on the fellowship's main page to "block messages from this fellowship".. Personally, I doubt I'd block any. But I understand people wanting to, but I'd hate to see people in my fellowship block all messages just because they get sick of some of them..
