I first thought my opponent had higher BKR, but now I see it was in fact lower, so that explains the outcome  17. In case of the latter, one player could sacrifice BKR points in order to win a tournament when he has a drawish position in the final. 17. I admit that it should be a very rare case, but taking the BKR at the start at the game, or even at the start of the tournament (in which case it can be a compensation for having had the harder pairings), seems better. But perhaps not better that selecting the winner at random :-) 17. The advantage of the lower rated player only occurs if it is a "normal game". 17. February 2007, 20:59:06 Subject: Re: Single elimination Tulip: there are several hypergammon tournaments in which more than 1 player have the same score in the end .. they are all declared winner i would guess the same would happen if a 2 player final would end in a draw ? but i have never been in such a situation .. maybe someone can find an example ? ;) |
