Bernice: go to the backgammon variations discussion board and see if there's anything there.
Anti-backgammon, eh? I don't play it myself, I prefer a game I have some chance of finishing in my lifetime.

Hi everyone,When using the pay-pal link to pay the $5 entry fee could you please send a pm to me or Harley letting us know the email you used when paying.
We need this info to match with who has paid. Your e-mail will be kept private. Thanks for all your help with this and again on entering.

They could also let you guys know what their BK name is in the comments box while paying to make sure you know just who it is who has paid, can't they Linda?

I just got done paying through paypal, and I did not get an option for the comment box.

When you pay by PayPal, it give your e-mail address as the ID. (The only reason they ask for your e-mail so they can make sure they match up the payment which is already sent to the correct userID)

To not give out your e-mail, you will probable just want to send payment through postal mail.

Problem being with the paypal link is people are sending in money an if they dont tell Linda or harley their email address no one has two clues who sent in money so ppl have to say ok im joe@home.ca that sent you 5 bucks..
if you send your money by snail mail dont forget to include your BK name so ppl will know who it is from.

Sign up HERE

This tournament is to start on March 15th. It is all game types, for players that are rated under 1500, or unrated.

This tournament is perfect for:

► People who are not as good in a certain game, so you won't get killed by "master players"
► People who would like to try out a new game - What a better time to try something new against people who you might have a chance with.

==============
A game needs to have at least 4 players signed to start, and the majority of them already have the 4 signed up, but some still need a few players. Take a look, and find the game which you would like to give a try.... and this is the best time to try out a new game!

Tournament will start in about 4 days, so go check it out now!

Subject: Okay.. I have a question..
The other day Fencer sent me a message saying all sections were complete in a tourney I held called.. "ScarletRose's Tribute to 911". My problem is.. this was the 2nd round and it looks as if the three of us all tied up.. How do we break the tie??

11. March 2004, 08:59:16

Sounds like theres three winners, Scarlet Rose :o)

I've just had a quick butcher's, Scarlet, and the
overall winner is seti vikki (sp).

In the first round, 3 tied in section 2 for first place so there were 4 in round 2 - which seti vikki won, 3-0.

I just signed on for Maharaja and I found out I was getting close to that 1500 LOL

12. March 2004, 15:56:34
coan.net
And if someone does go over 1500 before the start, as long as they are not WAY over 1500 I usually let them play - but lets say all of a sudden a person signed up while unrated, then has a rating of 1800 when it is ready to start, I will then remove them so it will be more fair for the other players. (But if someone has 1525 or something just over 1500, I don't worry about those.)

... And for everyone else - just a few more days to sign up for All Games for Dummies #3 tournament - and there are still a few games with only 2 or 3 people signed up - each section needs at least 4 players to start.

Personally, I think that every tournament that mentions another player in a negative/insulting way should be deleted. It doesn't look good for the site, and is extremely childish.

just my opinion..

Tournaments with the title (N) Free Zone are simply those where the named player is not welcome to participate.

Why can't somebody creat a prize tourney for something besides Backgammon ? LOL

14. March 2004, 03:36:35
coan.net
Backgammon is one of the most popular games, and usually if someone wants to offer a prize, they want a lot of people to join - so Backgammon is usually the choice.

Arnie, it is not necessary to put this person's name in there like that. You can include anyone you want, but you don't need to be rude by letting the whole site know that a certain person isn't welcome in the tournament. I stand by my opinion that is very rude and bad for the site.

To reiterate, NO personal attacks, jibes, bickering - be they directed at a named person or by reference.
If an attack is made in the same post as a tounament 'advertisement', the entire post will be removed.

Subject: Re: $1000 1st Prize, $500 2nd prize, Gothic Chess
What it looks like to me is the $5 to play in the tournament is to be donated directly to BrainKing (Fencer) - where then Fencer will let Gothic know the persons ID. (So Gothic does not see any of the money himself)

Then as an extra bonus, if 100 people donate, he will put up the money himself to the winners. (But you are correct that he will probable get the $1,000 himself) :-)

The previously BIGGEST Prize tournament, Gothic's $250 Prize tournament is still moving along.

Rose
Subject: Re: $1000 1st Prize, $500 2nd prize, Gothic Chess
The problem with this is if people use the donation page and send fencer $5 (US or Euro wasnt specified?) Fencer only gets two of it. Was this discussed first with Fencer Gothic? Kind of a waste of folks money if fencer only gets 2 outta the 5. This is why Harley an Linda are taking money directly for Lindas tourney then forwarding it all to fencer so then he only loses a few bucks outta all of it! not for every donation
