No I don't Butch because all decent programs have the three move openings already built in. I don't see a solution to this problem arriving soon.

BTW..Sorry for not visiting, I had my mind on other things. I am sure you understand. :o)

If you are making a request try Feature request board as I am right in thinking this board is for discussions on the forced jump variety.

I was stating what was written on checker solutions AP by seasoned grandmasters, it's up to you how you want to take these comments. You will also have to let me know where we played a live game because as far as I know I only played you twice on IYT. Obviously if this is mistaken identity you have my apology.

I would keep it a bit hush hush on here that you think Nemisis is the best. LOL

BTW...Why private games??

Graphics seem to be being made for all these new games, some look pretty tricky yet checkers is always left behind and people are still being put off becoming members of BK because of the pawns.

Thanks for the incite but saying the moves are simplistic is probably one of the biggest understatments I have heard about the game. It can take a lifetime to become a master and thats by studying for hours on end every week and you still wouldn't be even close to to knowing all the ins and outs of the game. You should delve deeper into the game and see how complex it actually is. :o)

I have heard of him. One of the greats. I think what Ed failed to realise is that programs are flawed, its just finding the weak spot in them.

Thanks Ed, a very fasinating insight you have given me. It shows quite clearly what most average checker players (like myself) don't realise and thats the sheer scale of this great game.
It reminds me of the Tinsley V Chinook match, when Tinsley worked out that the computer could "only" see 26 moves ahead in all variations (millions of moves). So in order to win he was looking 27 moves ahead. A genius.

I was just wondering how long it will take before a computer masters checkers? Thats all. i can't think of a better person to ask that question to.

So what about my other points Ed?????

How about the 2004 American championship in Las Vegas between 2nd August and the 6th or 7th August Ed? This is what I am referring to. Mainly because I am going to visit the event to view some of the action.
Wouldn't you like to pit your WCC against the top programs in the world? It would be a proud achievement to walk away as the best and give you some free promotion for your product.

BTW......You never said how long it would take you and Gil to master the game of checkers???

Subject: Re:
Maybe I missed your point but I don't see how they are linked. The patent is for a program, I was refering to you taking part in a tourney yourself.
So how long before checkers is mastered then???

Subject: Re:
Its not a case then of trying to master the game of checkers then?? It's money which motivates you?? I certainly don't dispute you and Gil's dedication to this program but are you not interested in showing your skills face to face, either on a competive nature or otherwise. I will be in Vegas to view some of the play in August, we could have got together for a game.
BTW..How long do you think it will be before you master the game of checkers????

Then my question would be... What's the point of it?? Buying it would be worth it as a substitute for books only. Playing it would be a waste of time.
Why haven't you ever decided to play in the big events Ed??

I agree Ed. I was just trying please the masses. Its a minority of people who have actually played 3-move checkers. Its a shame it isn't incorperated into the site like IYT.
