 Chess variants (10x8)

Sam has closed his piano and gone to bed ... now we can talk about the real stuff of life ... love, liberty and games such as
Janus, Capablanca Random, Embassy Chess & the odd mention of other 10x8 variants is welcome too

For posting:
- invitations to games (you can also use the New Game menu or for particular games: Janus; Capablanca Random; or Embassy)
- information about upcoming tournaments
- disussion of games (please limit this to completed games or discussion on how a game has arrived at a certain position
... speculation on who has an advantage or the benefits of potential moves is not permitted while that particular game is in progress)
- links to interesting related sites (non-promotional)

I think Ed means the current version isn't as high-end as the next one - maybe proven by your wins? ;)

One interesting part of that (now gone) post was that, since Ed's program is participating, it could happen that the prize winner and the prize sponsor of the GCWC are almost the same ;) Any comments?

OK, here's where it shows if you all paid attention at maths in school :)

Any two-digit number can be constructed by our familiar decimal digits 0-9 as follows:

10xA+B, where A, B any decimal digits.

What Ed asks us to do is take away the sum of the two digits, i.e. A+B. So we are left with:

10xA+B - (A+B) = 9xA

Just look at all the positions divisible by 9 - all the same symbol, which also appears at the end of each cycle inside the crystal ball...

No, redsales, only 88% of the table is randomized ;)

14-day free trial is only for real-time games, I assume? Because the site boasts:

"Free - Its free to sign up and begin playing right away"
...
"Well, the first thing you need to do is go ahead and sign up for your free cowplay.com game account."

And no mention of 14 days anywhere there on in their nice Windows-like Help popup...
