Personally, I think any topic that is currently mentioned in "Server News" is appropriate for this board.

Jim Dandy: I don't know of another site that has multiple game matches without the cube, so the issue doesn't come up. As mentioned in the other thread, it would be possible to have this feature, but I would consider it a variant.

Jim Dandy: Because a game is a game, whether it's a gammon or not. Gammons are only significant in cube matches.

rabbitoid: If you are playing with the cube, so that gammons count, you should not resign until you have borne off at least one checker. The system awards points based on the board position at the time of resignation. So, if you have no checkers out, you will lose a gammon or backgammon.

Also, I have been assuming that I should not resign until the move after I bear off my first checker.

Since your rates are stated in euro, what do exchange rates have to do with anything?

What counts is the total number of points earned by the opponents you beat. You and Uil had the same record except that you won both games from grafzahl while Uil went 1-1 against him; and Uil won both games from Seravajan, while you split with him. Grafzahl finished with 5 points, and Seravajan finished with 7. You earned 17 S-B points for your games against these two, while Uil earned 19 S-B points. That is why he has 2 more S-B points than you do.

Walter Montego: Case in point: http://brainking.com/en/Tournaments?tri=63846#1

I've finished 8 of the 12 11 point matches with 7 day time control. But there are 2 in which my opponent and I have made only 11 or 12 moves in almost 3 months of play. At that rate, the first round will take 5 or 6 years.

Groucho: The one feature I like in Opera that Mozilla does not have is the ability to make each tab refresh itself at stated intervals. Of course, with BrainKing that is not a problem.

Subject: Re: Firefox vs IE
Groucho: There are quite a few places on the Web where you will find that Mozilla doesn't work, because the sites were designed to use features that are exclusive to IE. This is true on the Microsoft sites, of course, but I encounter such situations frequently. Still, I use Mozilla for most of my surfing, and activate IE only as needed.
