Gabriel Almeida: I don't know how to change the Moderator, but I'll try to figure it out. I am good with you taking over if there aren't any objections.

Subject: New Moderator
I had told Bill sometime back that I didn't have to time to serve a significant role on this board. Does anyone have an interest in being the Moderator?

Very saddened by Bill's (Purple) passing. I've never met him in person, but I've played checkers him online for about 17 years. We first played on a site ItsYourMove and then we both came here. He will be missed.

What? 7 years? Thats crazy. lol. Are either of you asking for a draw?

I used to play on Goldtoken, but like this site so much better.

I agree that players should be willing to accept a draw or conceed when they're defeated. Once the outcome is obvious, its disrespectful to drag it out. Unfortunately some players aren't skilled enough to know when its obvious.

I also think there are some exceptions. There are times when I knew I was beaten and played longer than necessary. I just wanted to see how a better player would handle the end game. It was a learning experience.

Manuel M: I would support a change in moderators, but I'm not in a position to ask anyone to step down. I consider Purple a friend and I don't want to step on anyone's toes. I believe he deserves respect. He's spent alot of time setting up fellowships both here and other sites. Lets face it, keeping fresh conversations on 'checkers' is a difficult task.

Manuel are you saying that you'd like to be a moderator? Anyone else you'd suggest? As long as the majority of members in the fellowship are okay with it, I've give up my post. It wouldn't hurt my feelings... much. lol

Our board has been kinda slow lately. Anyone think of anything good to discuss?

Gabriel Almeida: I'm fuzzy about your question. pattypoo said she didn't want to play on the checker team. This is where we communicate for the team. It seems relivant to me.

To all members of this board, if you want to play on the team (or not) feel free to post it here. I do not want all the members to message me directly.

Thanks,
David

Gr☺uch☺: I agree. Ratings aren't important when compared to family, job security, or personal health, but it is fun to see your ratings jump after a tough win. I can't understand how anyone can enjoy cheating to win, but it happens. I don't think it happens often because cheaters get bored and move on.

Grandmaestro: I don't think so. What if all the people you beat went back to "unrated"? It wouldn't be fair to your record. Ratings wouldn't be worth anything if we could simply reset them. Thats just my opinion. If you want an offical answer send the question to Fencer.
