BBW, you are very welcome! I've used the site before, but the extension is just awesome. There is no need to type username or password or even hit the button. right-click, select bugMeNot and you are in.

Rahvin: another solution (if you use XP) is to have two users on the system, and just switch from one to another.

Ok, i got a few more extensions:

Translate - thanks to Fencer,
MapIt - maps any highlighted address to mapquest.com
BugMeNot - if you don't know what that is, check out bugmenot.com website. That's a database of login/passwords for many websites that require free registration.

Also, i found that you can add your favorite search engine to that list in the right top corner. Good for people who want to have other than enlgish search.

I still think it's a little slower than IE if you hit some very slow server on the other end of the world. IE loads picture faster. But extensions functionality is awesome.

Wow, FireFox has a lot of nice extensions. Anybody has any favorites? I like this one. A lot of options how tab browsing works. I especially like the little "X" button i can add on every tab.

yeah, that's the other tool that i mentioned. It's not bad, almost like the original yahoo toolbar.

I thought there is no Yahoo toolbar for firefox, there is only a third party tool that tries to mimic one.

I didn't say C is a pure language, i said "pure C" as oppose to C++.

3 layers?!!

I know some photographers who open canned food in a darkroom, so it doesn't go bad while they eat it.

whoever tries to connect from 208.51.89.181 is not part of your operating system. Don't let them in.

BTW, this is a nice website that tells you where is any IP is located (probably not 100% accurate)

I think personal firewalls are overrated. they give users fake feel of security. I've never used an antivirus or a personal firewall for more than a day. Every time i try one i feel it's waste of my time and computer resources.

I never had a virus on my home computer.

how do you define "reasonable"? I think it's a fast connection. People have 3mb/sec and 5mb/sec, but if all you do is just browse the web and play brainking that's more then enough.

well, something is crashing, you just need to find out the name of the executable. Monitor the task manager, see what processes are in the memory.

What's in your HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run registry?

19. August 2004, 01:08:51
vitalik
oh, yeah, and check the registry, i bet it's in "Run" somewhere, you are not the only one with this problem: http://computercops.biz/postlite66589-sdkcp.html

if you don't know what it is, Microsoft doesn't know what it is and it keeps crashing - delete it.

I got my gmail today too.

Yahoo lets you to "flag" messages, just like "Star" in gmail.

Also, did you notice, there is no "delete message" in gmail, only "move to trash". Same thing, don't know why they did that.

it's JVC XV-N50
The original box says "Region 1", but many companies sell it "hacked" so it plays all Regions. PAL-to-NTSC Converter is official.

There are few stores on the web that sell it, I'll let you know where my brother shopped.

I got a great JVC Region Free DVD player with built in PAL->NTSC converter as a present from my brother. Works great. I was able to play Region 5 Pal DVD on american NTSC TVSet.

If you are still interested i can ask him where he bought it.
