Subject: Re: Blank pages in Who is online, Online opponents and Bug tracker
WhiteTower: To verify your presumptions you will have to test the case NOT in your next area.
If you are able to reproduce the whole on a PC far away from here (in a shell, remote X or VNC) then we can assume a bk problem.

But fencer tried your account at himself ... and he said all is ok. So what?

Hrqls: if somebody has an x-server so that he can try it remote-logon he can do it. i can offer him only a linux shell (but in which he can test in lynx the pages).

I think the problem is the computer (NOT fencer or BK). In the problem about the logo (posted here, http://mec.tuwien.ac.at/ ) the problem was only ONE PC (which is the same as mine, from the same image and so on ...).

Subject: ie compatible with div-attribute?
thanks to all for the answer!

my problem with http://mec.tuwien.ac.at/ is the following:

one pc in our work ( IE 6.0.2800.1106, W2K with all patches) does not show the logos (all firewalls off). but two other shows it ... (and all other browsers: no problem)

the tag is:

div style="background-image:url(background2.gif); " ...

which made the problem in one pc ... but I think it is the problem of the one pc only ...

nobleheart:

a good screen capture utility
For Windows or for Linux? Under Linux/KDE I can recommend ksnapshot.
Under Windoof? Print or Print+Alt to capture the specified Window.

a html to txt converter ( for converting bookmark favorite html exported files)
huh? What is exactly the problem?

a html visual editor(does one exist?)
NVU - klick here: http://www.nvu.com/

nobleheart: In Linux/KDE: ksnapshot

In Windows: Print-Key for whole Windows => Paste in MS Paint or another painting program
Print + Ctrl => Only the specified Windows

(But ksnapshot has more capabilities than screen capturing in windows :-) )

Subject: Netscape Messenfer APOP support?
Does Netscape Messenger (or the Mail part of COmmunicator) not support mail connection via APOP? I was amazed that the netscape 7.0 did not support this ...

background: i finalized a new mailserver today and one user told me that his mail program (netscape 7.0) does not support APOP ... I installed Thunderbird and all was OK :-)

But now: Does Netscape 8.0.2 supports APOP?

PhatPlaya: Any UNIX users out there?

Yes. I am one. One HP-UX-Server at university (my work) is from 1987, another from 1991. One is the mailserver, another one with graohics environment. I learned to use the program xfig there and still using it there :-)

BIG BAD WOLF:

( Link to Yahoo-Article )

Gamsin said she did not know how the virus-like computer script that captured customer data got into CardSystems' network, which MasterCard said was infiltrated by an "unauthorized individual." Neither company would elaborate.

Subject: Re: norton is a waste of money
Universal Eyes: With norton and beta 1 and adware i''ve been able to find the viruses and worms

eh? how do you got them? in work i am admin of 66 windows systems since 4 years - no virus, n worm ... nothing since there. why?
1) strictly always update the OS
2) Using strictly and strong policies (mails and so on)
3) Using NON-IE-Browsers. At the begin it was netscape, now firefox
4) Using an updated antivirus - i recommend antivir.
5) using a combination of a general firewall and personnal firewall (i recommend kerio=
6) prohibiting using danger ports
...

but of course, the most problems are because people are clicking at everything ...
