 Chess variants (10x8)

Sam has closed his piano and gone to bed ... now we can talk about the real stuff of life ... love, liberty and games such as
Janus, Capablanca Random, Embassy Chess & the odd mention of other 10x8 variants is welcome too

For posting:
- invitations to games (you can also use the New Game menu or for particular games: Janus; Capablanca Random; or Embassy)
- information about upcoming tournaments
- disussion of games (please limit this to completed games or discussion on how a game has arrived at a certain position
... speculation on who has an advantage or the benefits of potential moves is not permitted while that particular game is in progress)
- links to interesting related sites (non-promotional)

Subject: CRC
SMIRF Engine: CRC is without doubt the highest form of serious chess, and special variants like Gothic or Embassy are only subsets of CRC.
Reinhard, i like your research in this difficult area and wish you all the best!

Have from Ed Trice that Susan is indeed the alternative to Fischer.

There exist a Gothic Chess game Ed vs Susan, have
only the first moves

1. d4 h6 2. Nh3 g6 3. g3 d5 4. Nc3 c6 5. e4 dxe4 6. Bxe4 Qxd4 7. Cd3 Qf6 8.Cd8 Ng7 9. Bf4 Nd7
10. Qxd7 e5 11. O-O-O

Interesting, that in 10x8 Chess, since there are
more pawns, there are more possibilities for a gambit - a player can sacrifice two pawns for
attack.

SMIRF Engine:
Even if there are enough names for the fairy pieces,
the players of orthodox Chess would understand their moves better if we would introduce their combined Chess names: KnightBishop, KnightRook,
and if one day you decide to introduce in Smirf the Maharaja/Amazon, then i would suggest as "KnightQueen".
