Subject: this would really really be helpful...
..to have a list of ALL the achievements that are possible to try to acheive.
this would certainly encourage players to strive for them.
maybe in the FAQ or as a commentary in achievements.
I have thought that perhaps this does not exist intentionally, but I can't think of a reason for hiding this.

I have looked to see if this exists. If it does, someone please share a link.

plaintiger: tiger that game idea IS NOT scrabble, too bad u did not read or comprehend well.
one letter at a time place anywere...turn based...the strategy idea to make words but avoid helping your opponent...turn based..you get the drift yet?

NOT scrabble, because as as most know, hasbro has the copyrights & freaksout at even "scrabble clones" by other names.

Subject: Re: I love word games too, however, the unique problem is that there are SO many languages here at Brainking!
rod03801: true, but thats not a problem.there are free "offical scrabble word lists"and"dictionary word databases" for just about any language.
most can be customized.so if word games were a consideration.it would not be a great problem,
---
also since we seem to be discussing game..how many also love games for more than 2 opponents.maybe for 3or 4 players.
I have often played with the idea of applying this to:
chess,backgammon,Backgammon Race,Lines of Action,Pente or Keryo Pente

oh ty yes vg yes i know that scrabble cant be copied..even clones by other names are hassled by the owners of scrabble..so I have heard anyway.

Subject: Re: cheat prevention
Modified by nobleheart (17. November 2006, 22:16:05)
emmett: this is a bad idea for 2 basic reason, there are others:

1-many users use public library, university or community center computers, thus many on one IP address.this would unfaily block many users.
it is surprising how many there are.take a poll fencer just for curiousity.

2-this unfortunely will NOT stop advanced cheating methods..there are many,I reframe from doing so.
but many dont care that cheating is a hollow victory.
to make yourself feel like you have acheived something by cheating,is the calling card of an insecure, dysunctional personality.

Subject: another idea
this is radical, but WOULD SOLVE issues surrounding fast players waiting on slow movers.
instead a setting for time per game.
each player elect in his prefs how fast he wants to play games.
7 day
5 day
3 day
1 day
12 hours
the problem of players having different "play"settings from each other could be solved in on interraction between players in which a game time is agreed.and the setting for that game could be altered.
this would at least easily ID the fast or the slow players from the word go.

but this is a system wide change & might be good to try on a game site starting up.what ye all think?

Subject: heY fencer!!! - I have a really great unique idea for a word game for those who like word games...
the thing about this.it is a clever idea for a word game, but the graphics do not need to be elaborate.
the required graphics for the program would not be very complex to code.
it could be put together relatively very quickly if desired.
I dont think I have seen this game anywhere,so I think it is a unique idea..I hope.

ok,the game:
how about a board of squares,say 15 X 15...or 20X20.
each player in turn simply places a letter on any square.
players alternate turns placing letters.
the object is to create words.the bigger the better score, adding to existing words is allowed.
trying not to help your opponent, but helping yourself is the strategy.

a variation on the game could be that for a turn,in place of placing a letter on the board.
any letter on the board can be changed, and any words resulting from this would be scored.

I hope our fearless leader sees this ,if so please comment.

Subject: some chess ideas
Modified by nobleheart (8. July 2006, 19:42:13)
some chess ideas that would be really radical:
how about a chess game with a simple twist on strategy.
chess played on a hexagonal shape board(multi-hexagons).
the difference between a square(4 directions) & a hexagon(6 directions) might be addictive.
-
or how about a central chessboard...with 4 more boards attached to each corner..why?...to allow four a 4 player game(4 colours).this sounds complex..but I have always thought it might be fun for chess for >2 players.maybe another idea for this might be for a larger board...4 players..and each simply takes a turn in rotation.
-
or how about chess played on a triangular shape board.(multi-triangles)
the difereence between a square(4 directions) & a triangle(3 directions).
-
any ideas on this people?

how about a turn based paintball game?
for example,some links:
http://www.mv.com/ipusers/paintball/game/

http://play-free-online-games.com/games/paintballcarnage.html
or capture the flag turn based.
or ,this may be a unique idea,I see nothing like it around:
how a bout a mini golf turn based game, based on winning points, more like a board game than playing mini golf?
some skills required...may take some creativity.

painted yatzee?"

got some links,if our fearless leader is to ever condider yatzee, please consider these 3 versions:
painted yatzee:
comment:
Painted Yahtzee is a dice game of a different color - challenging you to score according to number =and= color combinations! Multi-colored dice - blue, red, purple, green, and yellow - let you score dazzling combinations like 4 of a Color, a Painted House, a Rainbow, a Palette. Plus, there are number combinations, just as in Classic Yahtzee.

of course we could stick with simply yatzee, but make it for from 2 to 8 players instead.this would be a great multi-player game.

was told this:
"it is my understanding you would have to use the rules of YACHT, as the name and rules for YAHTZEE are copyrighted."
