Fencer: will this prevent someone from accepting more than one game?

Subject: a feature I would really like to see
I would like to see a feature that would limit the # of games that an opponent can accept when you have games in the waiting... I would like to get games from many players when posting games in waiting area(mainly to learn different stategies) but it seems like every time I post games( lets say 9 plakato games) it seems like one user always accepts 6-7 of them and it really irritates me... I think 2-3 is sufficient.
I would really like to see something added that I can block folks from accepting too many of my waiting games! does anyone else?

Fencer: awesome Thanks
any chance on another pond feature? I know several that would like to be able to sign up for ponds by checking which ones they want to join (from the main page)and doing it with one mouse click instead of having to sign up for each one individually and end up having to see 3 pages per pond.(main, pond, signup, back to main)
signing up for 10 ponds means seeing at least 30 pages ---just something to think about while making the site more user friendly!.

-may want to get rid of "another test pond" while you are at it... it will never start

excellent! now if it worked the same way for the 31 ponds I am waiting on that would be awesome!

I don't know if this has ever been asked or suggested before , but I would like to be able to go to the ponds sign-up page and check 3-4 or 6-8 ponds and sign up for them all at once instead of having to do each one individually.
it would save 5-10 minutes and 20-30 pages I would have to see...
it could work something like checking all my messages and deleting them all at once! :o)
any thoughts?

RagingSeas: that sounds like a great idea, and how about maybe being able to view an opponents win/loss record or ratio in the same request?...much like the 'projected BKR rating change' for a win/tie/loss...

how about a link to 'brainking info' (maybe under bug tracker and links) on the left of mainpage, as I inadvertantly deleted it when it was put on the center of mainpage, yet wanted to read the whole message....

Subject: adding info to a game...
would it be too much trouble to add "crawford round" to the multi match gammon games when the game is in a crawford situation? it would save on the guess work (short term memory loss) for a game that only gets played once every few days...

Subject: I propose...a "brainking open"
...a tourney created by fencer, with the backing of brainking, to be held annually...
...a sort of brainking "king" tourney of every type, with possibly the same type prize as the july action...
...with so many other tourneys created here, some lose the luster and appeal a tourney like this might create...
... I could care less about winning 'crazy joes chess for the intermediate' tourney, but would find better gaming pleasure in participating in "Brainking's ~king of kings~ battleboats tourney 2006"...
...anyone have any thoughts on this idea?...
...fencer?

I wonder if this could maybe one day be one of brainking's variants to the site...
...any thoughts?

another link about 'chouette' variant... those interested should look at the bottom of the page and find many more variations of 'gammon games and maybe direct the powers that be on BK in this direction. if BK ever wanted to cater to their gammon players, as they do to their chess players, this would be a good place to get some ideas... :o)

Subject: my last and final post on this subject
AbigailII:To me it means backgammon players are more satisfied with Brainking than Chess players. There are more of them, and relatively more of them pay. So, Fencer needs to work harder in the Chess department to attract more players. ;-)

that's not necessarily true... I for one would be a paying member if the 'gammon features had more to offer... mainly fixing the dice program and the implimentation of the cube...
chess is a great game when played fairly, but it is too easy to cheat at chess... too many computer progams out there and you never know when an opponent is using one...
...some may say 'well, gammon is luck', which at times it might be a small factor, it also has alot to do with skill...
...for the avid chess player, BK is the bomb, I suppose(with all it's differant variations) but as for the avid 'gammon player, BK is a dud of sorts...
I realize that my one measily membership means nothing to Fencer and HIS site, but he put this feature request board here for a reason... to figure out what members or POTENTIAL members would like to see here at BK...
...as he stated "I am aware of it"... and " I am not obliged to show any progress with anything. I read, think, consider, conclude etc. But it's only up to me and nobody else"...
...and we all respect that... we're simply REQUESTING FEATURES!!

:o) have a great day and happy gaming!
p.s. ...I'll be waiting to see the bone thrown!

...hey, I guess your right and he is good too... he responded or shall I say answered my question before I ever posted my comment... I found this( Fencer BKR and Backgammon 27. September 2005, 00:24:39
Well, as you might know, BrainKing is and always will be mostly focused on Chess, Checkers and similar non-dice games. I don't say I will never improve the rating formula for Backgammon and other dice games but the priority of this task is lower than average, at the moment.)
on the BK.com boards by typing in the word dice and then searching related links... I suppose I should do a little homework first and find out what position or stance BK policy is around here before I ask questions... guess I'll be renewing my membership elsewhere and be happy with the few games I am able to play here...
...bottom line is BK is catering to the serious chess players and not the serious backgammon players...

Subject: gammon variants and 'glitch' in dice program
it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that BK is dedicated more towards development of chess variants(25 and counting)than it is gammon variants(6 and stagnant)

I bring this subject up at least once a year(when I concider changing my membership from other sites to this one) also, to try and get more people behind the idea and suggest to BK that it offer more gammon variants(ie; 'pro' variants of backgammon, backgammon race, nackgammon and so forth...)
also, to fix the glitch in the dice program that will force an opponent to make a move when it can be made(using both dice whenever possile)

for 3 or more years now,the only responce I have gotten is "it's being adressed" or "it's in the works" ...my question would be "when"? ..."what year"?

I'd really like to become a member here, but I have reservations about it because BK seems to want to cater to chess players and not gammon players... oh well, maybe by next year when I concider doing the same...

fixing the program flaw or creating pro 'gammon games?... I'd opt for fixing the flaw while I was creating the program for the doubling cube... two birds with one stone... or is it not that easy a fix?

Subject: dice program flaw
it's no doubt that this is a great site, but it has needed some tweaking in the dice program since it's debut.... it's frustrating to say the least to have an opponent NOT move proper pieces in backgammon when there is a legal move on the board... it becomes especially disturbing when playing a close game of anti-backgammon and a lose occurs because of this flaw... if the player can make a legal move with the dice he/she is shown, then they should have to play the forced move, not the move that they can move only one of the dice... I have brought this subject up before a year or so ago, and if I recall it was being looked into... I've seen alot of new developments come along to the site, but nothing to addressing the flaw in the dice program...why?
