The very point that we have discussion boards that allow different opinions, even if unpopular with management, is a credit to Fencer. "I disapprove of what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

Raistlin: I like the black can swop sides idea which I have seen suggested on a couple of sites. The 1 point advantage is just easier to implement I would have thought.

I agree it is very bias to white but 7x7 is I believe the traditional board size going back centuries. I think giving black a 1 point advantage so draws count as a win for black evens it up a lot 55% to 45%. Alternatively allowing black to swop sides is suggested on Wikipedia on move 1 if white's move it too advantagous.

cd power: I also agree with you. I keep all my events but currently have 251 unread messages. I dont need a message to tell me a new fellowship tournament has started, there is a link for that. However i agree i would rather time was spent on new games than administration projects.

rednaz23: The notification does more than tell you you have won/ lost. It tells you your change in grade and (Sometimes) status of the tourament.

I expect the point is that if you are deemed to lose a game your opponent is also penalised in that a possibly interesting game is cut short. In a pond you are one of many so you are affected much more than your opponents, for whom the pond goes on.

rod03801: Its “bothersome” because a pawn made what seems to me to be a reasonable request and there has not been a reasonable response, other than what amount to “because I say so”. Are you saying that we should not support others unless we are in the same group? Don’t consider the handicapped for example unless you have the same problem?

I'm not questioning that it happened. I'm asking how this benefits the member?

But why does it assist a paid member to create a pawn account, write a defamatory remark and delete it over doing the same thing with their main account? Unless such remarks can’t be tracked by pawns I don’t follow how this assists?

Agreed, sounds complete nonsense. How would a paying member cover his tracks by creating a pawn account, writing something defamatory and then deleting it, as opposed to writing it under their own name and then deleting it?
