August 2006, 11:30:12 Subject: elimination-tourneys seedings... well, the best-rated players meet very soon in the elimination-tourneys. e.g. the best rated will meet the second best rated in the second round (if they both win their first match). as we all know from tennis and other sports, normally the first seeded is placed on the top, the second seeded at the bottom, third seeded at the top of the bottom half, fourth seeded at the bottom of the top half and so on... could this be possible in order to "honour" the best seeded ones and to make a big final between them a little more possible?? 9. I personally am happy with any system as long as their is a chance for 1 to meet 2 in the final round. In many games and sports, there is the 1-64, 2-63 and so on. In chess there is the 1-33, 2-34 and so on. And in a game like tennis, there is no set pairing except that the top two can't meet until the final, the top four can't meet until the semis and so on. |
