Daniel Snyder: You can. Check your settings page and look for the below. It will play your "next Game" by the oldest date of last move (I think)

Sort next games by - last move time - ascending/ descending

AbigailII: with respect, I'm referring to swaer words, sexual innuendo's, sexual references etc etc.

Not Hard Core, or world-wide controversial, but the kind of thing that if you knew a 9 year old could read, (like I definately know of one member here) might, you (using common sense) would want to delete it.

I see your point re having a board for kids as asking for trouble - thats the last thing any normal person wants, but to let them loose on "un-strictly" moderated boards is when problems may happen (not that I have first hand experience of this).

I think we are just suggesting that if BK is expanding, as it is, and appealing to all ages, perhaps the very young should be accomodated accordingly and be responsibly looked after by trusted people.?

As it stands, any account can post on any board. Whilst we all know the dangers to children, anything that will "help" provide a more secure place has got to be worthy of a discussion....

grenv: I see your point, but i have to admit that I've edited/deleted some things you really wouldnt want a child to see. But yes, you cannot shield a child from the internet, but providing them with a "safe" board to chat on, on such a friendly site is the best you could ever get on most websites.

Subject: Re:
ceridwen: mmmm there's teens and there's kids. I assume you know the teens you refer to?, who are more towards adult age then not?, and prefer to chat to adults?

I think we are concerned with the recent influx (OK - maybe two or three - but as BK gets more popular, it will expand to all age groups) of 9yr olds that if all had their own board to discuss their own interests - they would be much happier and safer.

I wouldnt want any child of mine posting and getting into any boards on here unless they were designed at "child age" and well monitored by respectable MOds/GM's.

Just my opinion....

Merrily Watkins: Good points - we posted at the same time. I think with enough supervision it might be worth a try. There's nothing stopping P*****philes on GC? At least the rules would state no adult posts (except Mods/GM's).

ScarletRose: I agree - it would have to be a "Teen Only" place. Only the youngsters who state their age on their profile.

Good shout re Mods - I think Winnie would be a good choice, and I would certainly volunteer to help as to would Harley i'm sure.

ScarletRose: i agree, there has been an influx of youngsters on GC and a "Teen Board" would be somewhere for them to post about horses etc.

Fencer - can you support "Card Games". Standard pack of 52 cards? If so, I play a game called "Crash" now and again which I think would be pretty easy to do for 2 player games to start with.

Summertop: Totally agree with you. A lot of the issues arise from Personal Fued's with people Thousands of miles away in other countries, and "internet bad boys(girls)" who just have fun causing trouble where they can't get in trouble for it.

Anyway, i'mk off to my real world now...

Subject: Re: Moderator support.
Summertop: I'm not saying ban because of some posts that needed moderating. Thats why they get moderated. You stated "Troublesome", which I assume you referred to a user who consistently requires moderating (and therefore breaking BK rules)? If this was the case, then they should be banned.

I have no problem moderating the boards. Was your suggestion was that a hit list could warn moderators when trouble is online? or on a certain board? Why? If everyone got back into the real world and use this site for game playing, there would be no problem.

The fact is that boards shouldn't need to be moderated. Users should not break BK rules.

Bry
Subject: Re: Moderator support.
Summertop: Troublesome members should simply be banned from boards. Moderators should not need to be extra vigilant. Many of the Moderators are here to play games like most others, not spend all online time watching known trouble causers.

Partiqa: As far as I know, if you have someone on your enemy list, they cannot track you, send you a PM or join any games you have. Other than PB's, they cant contact you.

With Friends, the only real differemce to a non friend is that you can see them "on-line" on the right. I have just made someone who was on my friends list, and selected to put them on enemy's list. They still show up in the "friends Online" - probably because they were on friends before enemies. I know I am on their enemy list and dont see any info re where they are or have the ability to send a message.

Subject: Re: Go to next game in this tournament.
rod03801: it's something I asked for a few months ago - "move and go to next game in 'this' tournament". When I play in Team Tourney's, I like to play all moves in that tournament at the same time. Fencer said it can be done and he will look at it, I assume he has not had time yet or that it is least priority... but I'm sure it will be done eventually.

Fencer - do you propose opening a discussion about DB reduction, or will you just decide and do it?

18. January 2005, 20:48:42
Bry
Let's have less discussion boards and more games. One DB for every game (or game type for the least popular games). One General Chat, and one Feature Request for discussions about features not related to existing games - for which a board will already exist.

?

BerniceC - I've already asked Fencer about that, after he implemented my idea for the "you are signed up" on ponds. He said it's something he can do but is quite a big job but it is on his "to-do" list.

7. January 2005, 20:39:44

I think it would be a good addition. Dont think I would use it too much personally, but if it's easy to do it would be another "option"...

If you would like a feature request - post it here. If there is a more specific board for the request, (i.e. game rule changes etc) then it should be posted and discussed on that specific board.

Anders - yes - perhaps it does need changing under the board name....

Fencer - chop to it then young man!!

I'll expect to see then next time i log on..... LOL

BBW - good point. Members Only sounds right to me. Or should it go in Tournaments?

Bry
Fencer - on the options to move to the next game, can you add options to move to the next "tournament" game, the next "Team Tournament" game and the next "Normal" game?

15. December 2004, 21:33:52
Bry
Stevie - agreed. I think future games should be that if you time out your guess is "0" and will inevitably fall into the pond. However, this means if soemone times out in each of the first 5 rounds, you could in theory get thru them by just guessing 1point. Timeout should really mean falling into the pond then.

15. December 2004, 21:19:59
Bry
BBW - can a player see how many points the other players have left?

15. December 2004, 21:15:59
Bry
2 players make the same bet - my understanding is that if it's the lowest bet, then they both go into the pond, it it's the highest bet no-one gets the 500 extra points, and if it's the last 2 players who bet the same - they both go in the pond and there is no winner.

Ramblin - do 20 or so moves, move to main page, have a gander then go back to game mode. At the end of the day, you wont be missing out on much in 10/20 mins or so....

Ramblin - when u have played a few games, and you think there may be some messages on all the boards to read, just click move and go to main page and gander at all the messages.

I agree with Thad - re clicking red number takes you to the oldest. If there are new messages on more than one page, when you click to page 2 to read upwards, the "new" disappears. Would this be easy Fencer?

Why not try having 2 rating tables under each game, next to each other - one for games played as white, and one for black. That may give player an incentive to play more games as black to better their position?

Fencer,

On the main tournament page (and the Fellowships) can you create another column to show the winner of the tournament when it becomes complete? as well as the name and creator of it.

Cheers, Bry.
