Anders like I said, I said repeatedly all over these boards about the pawns. Here's one example from March 30, any others and you scroll for yourself. :•)
Absolutely nothing has been changed or erased from this tournament. I resent the accusation.

The following is a copied post from this board.

Ask me if I'm tired of writing the above?

A little info on the tournament.
The tournament has started! 100 people are playing. 20 different sections which means 20 pawns will become members with a winner in each section. More if there's a tie.
Fencer was extremely generous there.
I have 99 people down as paid with 4 still having money on it's way for a total of 103 people paid.
No total yet on amount of money collected.

I think this tournament was a huge success. Thanks to everyone that entered or donated to this event.
This ones for you. ((((((hugs))))))
Lot's "O" Luck in the tournament everyone. Have fun. ;•)

Yes that's the way it goes. Overall winner will receive $50. If you win that it's yours to keep. Each section will have a winner or more in case of a tie.

2 sections are now completed with AD & TexasToast each winning their sections. Congratulations to both of you, thanks for playing & good luck towards the $50.
You both will be making 2 pawns very happy for the next 6 months shortly.

ROFL Thanks Bill, that's ok on the dollar I hear millionaires have troubles too. Of course I wouldn't know for sure.

30. March 2004, 16:03:34
Linda J
Oh I forgot one thing. If I can now get one million people to send me $1 I could be a millionaire.
What's that Fencer? I can't ask. Awe!

Thanks Walter I'm tickled you'll be rejoining the fun. I'm very excited about the BK fund raiser and have been from day one. I can't wait for it to get kicked off. Fencer has been very much involved as has Harley and I thank them both.
He has also been extremely generous with the prizes he has added in.
SO, if anyone doesn't want to miss out, you have until March 29th to sign up and pay the $5 donation. This is going to be a blast with prizes awarded for every section, it should keep it quite interesting and all eyes glued to it to see the winners. Again thanks to everyone that joined and the best of luck to each of you. ;•)
If you haven't joined and would like to get in on the fun, you can do so HERE A special thank you to those that aren't playing and made a donation too.

Sorry you did Walter. I'll pm you before the start date to check.
Steve I joined yours, join mine. ;•)

Linda J
Walter please do not pull out of the fund raiser tournament. I can assure you nothing in it has changed and all prizes will be rewarded.

I would be highly upset with 14 losses due to someone else also. They are going to be some more very upset people when they realize the tournament they entered by LJ is no longer a prize tournament.
In all fairness I think the tournaments he created as prize tourneys need to be deleted. Maybe Fencer can do something about the 14 losses.

17. March 2004, 17:35:41
Linda J
It is not me that complaining about them but you. Another one of your lies.
I do hope this does change the way prize tournaments are done in the future with prizes being paid for up front. ;•)

17. March 2004, 17:17:29
Linda J
LongJohn I think you need to take your own advice. You whined enough about those 50 brains you claim to now not want.
Your tournaments were a cheap way of getting people to sign up for something you never had any intentions of giving away. Sad. Kind of like the little boy his mother had to tie pork chops around his neck to get the dogs to play with him. LOL
Try simply a change of attitude instead of a lie.

You still have time to enter this tournament. There is a $5 donation which will go to brainking to enter. Prizes are $50 to the overall tournament winner and a 6 month brain knight membership to each section winner(s).
You can enter the BK Fund Raiser Prize Tournament and make your donation HERE
Thanks to all that enter and lots "O" luck.

Hi everyone,When using the pay-pal link to pay the $5 entry fee could you please send a pm to me or Harley letting us know the email you used when paying.
We need this info to match with who has paid. Your e-mail will be kept private. Thanks for all your help with this and again on entering.

We have reached our goal of 100 people. We will now begin to collect the $5 entry fee.
A link has been provided for pay-pal at the tournament. You can donate any amount you would like but minimum is $5 to enter.
You can make your payment or enter this tournament
here.PAY-PAL
A great big thank-you to all that entered and lots of luck.

*note* You do not have to be in this tournament to make a donation.
If you do not use pay-pal and want to send a check or money order please contact me, a mailing address will be provided.

7. March 2004, 16:34:25
Linda J
It has been decided how the money will be collected and will be very soon.
Of course anyone who wanted to donate anything above the entry fee would be more then welcome to.
You can also pay for someone else to play in the tournament if you'd like.
I don't know about a larger prize though.
Guess we will have to wait to see what is collected. That could get a little confusing and it is a fund raiser. ;•)

7. March 2004, 09:35:08
Linda J
Good question Jason I know it does happen.
Fencer will have to answer that one. ;•)

7. March 2004, 08:49:16

No Bernice. Fencer gets $450 or whatever the total is - the $50 prize money.
Fencer generously donated the knight memberships.

We need at least 4 more people for this tournament to make 100. If we get 100 people the tourney will be divided into 20 sections. Each section will have a winner of 6 months brain knight membership.
That's 20 new members for the site. Plus the $50 overall prize.
You can enter this tournament HERE

In the Fund raiser tourney each section will have it's own winner too. So that ought to make it interesting too.
The debate club backgammon tourney had over 100 in it and it's moving along ok.

7. March 2004, 07:18:52

Backgammon doesn't nearly take as long as chess does.
Also all money will be collected before the tournament begins. ;•)

It would be so nice to surpass that number. ;•)
Over all Winner will receive $50
Each section will also have a Winner of 6 months brain knight membership
More sections more winners. If you are a knight or a pawn and want to play, please let us know.
Thanks to everyone who has entered so far. Lots of luck.

That would be up to Fencer. He is working on puting a link about more prizes on the server though so everyone will know.

It would also help if everyone told someone else about the tourney in your games. Make sure they know.

In answer to BBW's question.

BK Fund Raiser
Instead of talking about it all day, we're doing something to raise money. We are trying to set up a prize tournament to raise money for BK. The tournament will be backgammon with an entrance fee of $5 with all proceeds going to BK. The prize will be $50 to the winner. Get a chance at $50 and help BK all in one. You will be asked to pay the fee of $5 once we know we have enough interested players. All entrance fees will have to be collected before the tournament can begin.
In order for this to work well we are hoping for at least 100 entrants which would be $500
$450 would go to BK and $50 to the winner. Please only serious entrees please. If you sign up for this tournament we will take it that you will be willing to pay the fee.

You can sign up for this tournament
Here

If you do not play backgammon and would like to donate please send me a pm. Thanks :•)
