Subject: Theme tournaments
One more thing - do you think that I should add a support for "theme tournaments"? For example, a chess tournament where all players must play King's gambit. Would it be interesting or only a waste of (my) time?

Subject: Levels
Hello,
please help me to solve this problem - if one defines a tournament for e.g. Brain Pawns only, a player with this level signs up and after two days [still before the deadline] he upgrades to Brain Knight, should the player be automatically removed from the tournament because he is not a Brain Pawn anymore?

Dont forget its the last day to sign up for fast nack (1). Quick games with 1 day moves, while you are there, have a look at fast Backgammon (2) and Its a race (2) for the lovers of fast play backgammon!!! :-)

Uil: You have to wait until the section is completed. It is not clear who is the winner at the current status.
Kevin: No, once all sections of one game type are completed, the new round can be generated. Since this feature was never used before, it is currently available for me only. When I test in on some tournament will completed sections, I will make it available for the corresponding tournament creators as well.

Subject: Question...
If, for example, all the Spider-Line4 sections are complete in eddie's fast tourney 1, can it not progress to round 2 until all the sections in all the games are complete? Thanks!

hrlqns: I've already set "holidays" for monday-wednesday of this week and I will probably extend them. Nobody will time out.

Fencer, you'd only be creating more work for yourself if you started the tournaments, everyone is timing out and will no doubt ask for the game to be started again once the problems are sorted. I'm having a lot of problems myself, yesterday I spent hours trying to get in and for my efforts managed to move in only 8 games! But I'm just keeping from a timeout in my games. Other people aren't so lucky! We know you're trying your best but starting tournaments will only add to everyones load at this point.

If you want to, I can start that tournament myself. It is really strange that only they cannot access this site. I will make more tests.

Manicotti would love to have started that tourney FEB1 however she hasnt been able to access this site at all since Jan 28!! Neither has her co partner in the tourney Eddie Spaghetti.
They are more frusterated then we are.. One is on a PC other is on WebTv Wish I knew how to get them access back in here!!!
They arent the only paying members who cant gain access back in to the site either....

Shouldn't some tourneys have started by now, like Manicotti's Reversi 6x6 (entries finished 1st Feb)?

Subject: tournament entry
as a brain knight i can not enter a tournament because i am already playing in an other tournemant of the same kind. so far i understand, but if i have completed all my games in that other tournament i still can not enter an other tournament. So i am the victim of the slow play of other players. Is that right? I have completed that tournament!

Goonerg: Oops! There is some minor error. Please wait, I'll fix it :-)
Kevin: Yes, similar to new game definitions. I'll do it.

And what about having the ability to select exactly what levels may join a tournament, instead of just a minimum (similar to the way you can do when sending out an open invite). That way for the prize tournaments, for example, it can be restricted to just pawns.

There is a tourney for players with 1600 and above ratings - the "Premier" 5 in a line tourney. If you are good enough, please can you sign up, so it is a great tourney.

Subject: tourneys
Fencer, Can you arrange something where as well as being able to start a tourney, we can adjust the settings within it, for example, - you can set the group stages so the top two players qualify from each group, meaning more of a chance for players who are unfortunate and are drawn with a top player in their group?. It would make it more interesting for the players in the group stages, even if they lose their first two games against the aforementioned opponent knowing they could still qualify.
Cheers,
Bry.

Subject: First tourney
Fencer...I just won my first round in the First Brain King Tourney in Anti Reversi...well waiting for my opponent from the other game...thought I should check something out...do I have to have a certain number of spaces free to play in the next round???Or am I still able to play if I have 20 games going??? Just want to make sure:)

26. January 2003, 08:02:31
Fencer
Kevin: The restriction is currently applied only when you want to sign up [the sign up link will appear for you or not]. Once you are in, it is not considered.
Should I improve it?
