Subject: Signups
Sign-ups have closed for A Few of My Favourite Things. I'll probably start the tournament later today or tomorrow.

Meanwhile, sign-ups have begun for the Brotherly Love duo. This is two separate tournaments, one for beginners (BKR under 2000 or unrated), and one for advanced players (BKR 2000 and up, no unrated players), and include all games.

New unrated tablut tournament. Click here to sign up.

This time there's a max BKR of 1500 so no need to worry about getting pelted by the big guys.

I the first game of his I looked at (with you Blue) he has until jan 27 to make his next move. Weekend days don't count so it's 21 days per move, only counting 5 days a week. That is the only down side of being a pawn, only one tournament at a time. If you ever decide to upgrade, that is no longer a problem. I have about 400 games going right now in at least 75 different tournaments.

Subject: Re: Championship # 9 Backgammon
BlueM: The problem is that the time per move in that tournament is 21 (plus any vacation days people may have). It is also Xmas & New Year. I think it could be a long wait for you.
I suggest next time you pick a competition with a shorter move time.

Interesting how each section has one player that hasn't completed any games .... while the majority of the tourney has been completed .... is this the same person? or some kind of computerized player ??? what gives ?? awful suspicious to say the least !!

When a player who starts out unrated, but before the tournament starts - goes OVER the rating limit, they will STAY in the tournament by default.

Now what I do when I run (for example 1500 & under) tournaments, before the tournament actually starts, as tournament creator - I go and remove anyone who is then over the limit that was setup (unless it's not by much - like BKR 1505, etc...) but it is up to the tournament creator if they want them to stay or not.

30. December 2003, 20:41:15
harley
Thats up to you, Lythande. You can let them play, or remove them before the start of the tourney.

Subject: Re: Need some more players....
Whispers, I was thinking of upping that to 1800.. Fencer (who was first to join up - Thank you!! :) started as unrated when he signed, but now shows at ~1799, which is over-limit. Which brings up a question. If those who are already signed break the BKR limit before the games start, what happens to those players?

Ok that's strange, when you click on that link, did it invite you automaticly? I've gotten 3 PM's in the last 10 mins telling me people accepted the invites, but the only person I invited was chatty lol. Everyone is welcome to join, I just thought that was kinda strange :)

It's not really the new/old links - it has to do with if you use the www. before Brainking.com or not.

So to have a link work for EVERYONE who uses BrainKing, it should look something like this (without the ".":

<.A HREF="/game/ShowFellowship?fid=105">

So no matter if a person is using http://brainking.com, or http://www.brainking.com, or even http://new.brainking.com - it will work (And as a note, as of right now there is no difference between the "new", "www", or "blank")

(As a second side note - I believe Fencer is going to have this fixed in the new version of BrainKing which should be comming in the next few months!

29. December 2003, 15:21:00

I forgot about the new/old/whatever BK links lol. Ok it's fixed.
