Subject: Re:
Czuch: I faced this problem too. It just getting corrupted during the download since the connection speed is not good i guess for some reason.
My son solved my problems when he told me to use a download manager to download the file. He installed on my computer the program flashget and if you try to download with it then you will have your file with no problem.

Then you need winzip or winrar to extract the games of the file into PGN format.
Unfortunately for example for Loop Chess the games are 20000 so when you extract them in a folder Windows are very slow to handle and anyway it's just too tough to do anything with them having to open each one separately each time.

So my son saved me again by showing me a way to join all these PGNs with single games, into one big PGN with all the games.
Just create a BAT file and write:
for %%f IN (*.PGN) DO type %%f>>collect.out
ren collect.out FINAL.pgn

Don't ask me what are all these, i don't know. But it does the work.
Then inside the folder with all the games run the bat file and at the end you will have a PGN named final.pgn with all the games. Now you can delete of course all the 20000 single PGNs.

And then you can handle this PGN with ease.

Undertaker.: Now, i see you don't defend it. So, do you defend anything or only know speak ill of all ideas (and create tournaments and more tournaments and bad tournaments lol)?

He does defend the Glicko system if you are not ill and can read. :-)

MrWCF: Wow!!!
I guess wow means what a great rating system this is?

Also, I can't seem to get the piece values in relation to each other straight--I'm still hung up on the 1-3-3.25-5-9 values in traditional chess.
I can't give you information of this kind with values etc. I can get my son speak about these things for hours, but i don't think that way in Chess and in Embassy Chess. It's just an experience matter and just think that way only.

I can give you countless general as also of specific type examples, of e.g Cardinal is better than Marshall here and there. And that of course with the small experience i got by playing this game here. In Chess is another matter and i have great experience being an IM. My beliefs about piece values-relations of this game have sounded a bit odd when i told them to another strong player, panzerschiff, but i think i'm right to all my conclusions. :-)
But this conversation is not for here but only to the appropriate discussion board i guess.

MrWCF: Let me hasten to add that this is not to cast aspersions on Jannssen's Cam skill level. For all I know, he is a world-class Cam player.

Is there any such thing as a world class player in Cam? Heh, i don't even know what Cam is, lol. :-)

BTW as per what Pedro Martinez says about your Embassy Chess skills(although seeing some of your games i saw some unwise moves) do you mind playing some fast paced games with me?
This site is great but most top players are unwilling to play and reject my invitations as they have to play some hundreds of games and have no time for more. :-(

Bernice: I didnt look too far but he has only been playing with people from Estonia.....there is a pisipaddy and a pisipaddy2...multi nic? seems a bit strange but he/she might be legit.

Let me tell you something. I'm playing with both elizabeth1932, pisipaddy, sema, NODDY and i can tell you that the playing style is the same, the time where these players are online/offline is the same, the behavior of these players is the same(they never talk a word).
Conclusions are yours.

Yet there is the slight possibility that they might be a couple of friends that come along and decided to play together here. But i doubt because of the playing style which is the exact same for all these 4 players.

And if you look at pmvaht's opponents where he obtained the 3000 rating in Backgammon, you will see that his opponents were the 4 players i have mentioned and been playing.

Oh i see. But ho is he/she? And why he has given me 6 months of Brain Knight for free without even myself know it?

I have paid twice for becoming a Brain Bishop. I think that around these days my account expires.
But now without buying any kind of membership at all, i see that i'm a Brain Knight for 6 months!!

WHY? :-)

I have the Brain Bishop type of membership that expires today. I have also more than 20 games running. When the Brain Bishop expires in a few hours and i will transformed into a Pawn what will happen with my games?
Will they expire also in order the 20 games restrictions for Pawns to be applied?

I guess some people like playing against turtles but my mileage varies a lot, so i will use your advice.

pauloaguia: The number of games a person has says little about his/her ability to play.
And where did i mention that?

My point is i find having 900 games running( Good lord!) an exaggeration. If you make 5 days for each move in every single game then the opponent suffers. But you suffer also as you are not really enjoying the games as you become a part of a hunting. You hunt making moves.
This site is supposed to be a fun site where players play for fun mainly and fun disappears if you play against a turtle that moves every sun's eclipse.

It's not a money tournament where players play for money so they have to make serious decisions about so time control is one, two, 5 or more days or even a month. I'm a professional Chess player and have played correspondence also but that was different as you only have to play some games and it is for rating i.e money!

I'm not saying they should play crappy moves here because it's for fun, but i'm saying that i think people lose the point of all this.

Thanks. Sounds like a logical rule.
I hope my opponent is not insulted by deleting this game but i can't stand waiting one hundred days for him to play even the starting move!

And why some players have more than 100-200 started games at a certain time? I mean if they can't keep up with so many games they should not play them and not play like snails.

What is Delete Game for?
I suspect it is for deleting the current game you play but why anyone is allowed to do that? I mean if someone sees that he is losing, is he allowed to delete the game or what?

I'm playing against a player with someone that has some 500 started games to play(LOL!) and he is moving slower than a turtle. In fact it is 4 days now that he hasn't moved at all in his first move. This is a torture and i don't like that kind of games.
I want to delete the game and i have this option. If i do this what are the consequences?

coan.net: Oh i see so it's even more of a tragedy than i thought. So we can't kill the Dragon by any means and it will remain there torturing us!

And it IS the Dragon your problem. Just go to another site with a similar moving disaster, where it snows, for example here----> LINK and see the same kind of disaster. 99% CPU resources are off.

And yes Brainking becomes unbelievably annoying to have it loaded in a tab. I have to close it too all the time.

Hi there,

How can someone remove the damn flying Dragon, aka-the-single-most--disgusting-thing-that-gets-in-my-nerves- that is sucking my CPU resources(even 99%) every time it decides to fly?

And i don't mean by changing the castle layout. I like the castle. I just hate the flying CPU resource whirlpool.
