Walter Montego: and taking out a six-month membership would cost an extra 12 euros a year, which is fine by me; I would wiilingly pay extra for that extra 30 days vacation time!!
I agree that probably very few players are constrained by 30 days vacation time - but I am one and it causes major headaches!!

Subject: Re: Competitiveness and fairness
Hrqls: I definitely approve of 'babysitting'; it's the only way of coping with a year's 30 day vacation time.

By the time I get to October (assuming Vacation time started in January), I have no days left - so what do I do?
I have asked fencer whether we could pay extra for more days. This could be based on whether a player is a quick player or not.

I appreciate that the programming of this alternative may be tricky - but it would be very useful. Having 3 weeks holiday on a remote camp-site in Cornwall tends to destroy vacation time!!

Subject: Re: Vacation days mismatch.
Hrqls: I think we could have 30 days as a start off. Then we deduct vacation days and add on 2 or 3 days a month until we get back to 30 days maximum. That way, we could always have enough days for vacations.
Other sites do it thia way.

playBunny: Thank you for explaining this so perfectly; as you say, BK could allocate 2 days in one month and 3 days in the next.

Modified by tonyh (14. December 2005, 16:37:16)
Fencer: the 30 days vacation time is renewed at the end of each month (you might have to give us 36 days!! or add on 2 1/2 days).
that way, we need never worry about running out of vacation time towards the end 0f the year. For example, I have 0 days left but will get 30 days in January, when I don't really need them then.

Fencer; you will know (probably) how many Pawns will disappear, who might otherwise have taken up Paid membership. To me, this is the only downside.
How about asking top-rated Pawns to see what they might do (but bear in mind you probably won't get a true answer!!!)
