How does one prevent oneself from getting invites? I can go to the game filter settings, and disable all games to receive invites for, but one. If I deselect them all, it just comes back with whatever was the previous setting. So the best I can do is disable all games, except for one. Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong?

AbigailII: No, that's how it works. If you disable all game invites, what would you do on BrainKing then?

Fencer: Play tournaments? Reply to ads on the Waiting games page? Post ads on the waiting games page?

I don't understand your reply. Are you saying it's OK to ignore invites for 101 out of 102 games, but not to ignore them for 102? If that's so, could you tell us in which games the least invites happen, so I can leave that game enabled?

AbigailII: Why don't you want people to invite you to any kind of game?

Fencer: I've a simple rule on all game sites I play: I never accept invitations. If I want to play a particular game with particular time settings, I join a tournament according that suits my tastes, or pick one from the waiting games page. I might even create my own tournament or post something on the waiting games page. I certainly don't want to explain to people why I reject their invitations, so currently whenever I get invited, I put the person inviting me on my blocked users list, then decline the invitation.

I don't invite random strangers to play - and I appreciate it not to be invited either.

AbigailII: Let the game type that's open for invites be a game type where you don't have a rating. Then you wont get invites from people browsing the rating lists.

Thanks for posting about this - I thought I had disabled all of my invites, but after reading this I found that they were all still there - since I guess it did not accept it when I chose to show no invites.

So I just made it so only 1 game is shown - even though I will reject those invites also. Would also like to see it possible to turn off all invites instead of the all but 1 invite.

AbigailII: Do you know HTML? If so, grab the code from the settings page and add a game id 103 to it, then select to accept invites for that game. When Fencer adds a new game, this has to be changed again.

If you want, I can give you more detailed instructions in a PM.

Luke Skywalker: Ah, thanks, it appears that that trick works.

then there's a drawback to this, if i play a friendly game and we want to invite each other back, and we have all games disabled, then we can't invite. am i correct?

ellieoop: Send a public invitation and ask the other person to accept it.

Luke Skywalker: If instead of 103 you use 1003, for instance, there will be no need to change it when Fencer adds a new game
