The coversion to Euro's means a 25% increase on the cost for the English. The Pound is crap against the Euro, but wasnt too bad against the $Dollar.

Subject: BIRTHDAYS
Hello everyone....
I'm compiling a list of birthdays of players on this site.
You can see my list of those I already have on the debate club news board.
My goal is to get everyones birthday put on that list.
You do NOT have to tell the year if you'd rather not.
Please give me your special birthday so I can add it to the list. You can give it on here or send me a PM. Thanks..... If you know of anyone else's b-day I don't have, give me those too please thanks.
Be sure to visit Debate club news board to view the list and to see who shares your special day.
Then add birthday DB to your favorites board to watch for yours.

If you do not help by sending in your birthday, I will be visiting a profile near you.
So be a dear please and help. :•)

It's a conspiracy to keep you off the top of the moves list, Antje...

It's an effect of the reversing of karma with the new year, dont worry, apologise a lot and it'll balance out.

... I don't follow exchange rates, but is it possible for the US $ to start doing better, and then by the time it is ready to renew, it would actually be cheaper for us, or will it probable always be more expence for us in the US?

23. January 2004, 14:13:29
Fencer
That's why everybody has enough time to renew his/her membership for the current price. I think it's fair to both BK users and me.

23. January 2004, 14:08:09
Rose
Biggest jump is in Canadian funds I think. The $28 fee went from $36CA (at Current US conversion rate or $28US) to $46.Ca - If that made sense. It does to me!!
But that is just now. When I got my membership it was nearly $45US, so the US buck isnt doing too well me thinks.

Brian, try XE.com currency converter

18 Euro's is about $22

Subject: exchange rate
I know the exchange rate between the Euro and the US dollar varies daily. However just curious what the current and average exchange rate is. I am year long brain knight so I paid 18 USD. WIth the new Euro measurement for paying what does cost me in USD to renew the membership. I know the new exchange does not go into effect until March 1.

Rod: First I have to finish new BrainKing with no new features. Then, when it's proven to be stable, I can work on games etc.

If a doubling cube is ever added, the resign needs to be for the whole match, though.
Is the doubling cube coming with the new brainking, Fencer? or the often debated correction to follow the generally accepted rules of Backgammon? (being forced to always play both dice if it is possible)

22. January 2004, 15:30:19
Fencer
It's always a resign of the game.

I knew that BrainKing would be unavailable yesterday.... since I had a lot of free time, and access to a very fast internet connection which would have given me a chance to play many games, I knew that the game gods would be against me!

Anyway, true question below. Someone asked me in private message, and I'm not sure of the answer. Please post here and I'll make sure the person gets the answer!
= = = = = = =
I'm new at BK and wanna ask you about the resign-rule in backgammon on this site.

If I resign a game in 3-win match - is the resign for the match or the game?

I know it from itsyourturn that the resign is a resign for the complete match.

Brian it was from 00:30 till 07:30 for me, it was murder on a nightshift with no BK :'o(

I found brain king to be unaccessable last night. I logged on after work about 8pm and couldnt get in the site. I kept trying off and on until about 10:30pm and then gave up. The times are central USA times.

Bernice, thats only possible if someone has access to your account - I very much doubt thats the case for you so I suggest you contact the tournament organiser and ask if they have changed the name.

Lythande, I don't think there have been any changes in anti-checkers. I never use other windows when I'm playing so I'm not quite sure what you mean. But thats more likely than a change in rules!

21. January 2004, 08:17:59
Lythande
Hmmm... Was there a change in anti-checkers? I've never noticed the game make the next players jumps for them before. A setting I've missed perhaps? Or does it still say 'finish move by...' when you try to move in a game that was played in another window?

fencer i know that your busy but could you do a list of the top ten (most moves made in total , not a day) like you did for whispers but the top ten out of all the people here ?

20. January 2004, 12:44:20
Fencer
Jason: It means that at the moment it was 18,278 but while I was typing, Whisperz could make more moves :-)

20. January 2004, 12:40:09

Whisperz: 18278 ... 9 ... 80 ... 81 ok maybe im thick but how many moves is that ?
edit maybe its 18,281 . that sounds alot of moves

wonder how many i have done ??
