Angus: Actually, if you want to upgrade your existing level to a higher one, send me a message (to my message box) and I will let you know how to do it.
eddie: Sure :-)

Subject: Re: Upgrade membership
Angus: What option? I have added or removed nothing on Paid Membership page. But if you want to upgrade your existing Brain Knight membership to Brain Rook, send me a message.

BlazinBrian: Your game with deathwolff was ended after the first move, that's why this game was not counted for BKR. Please read the FAQ page, all cases are described and explained there.
Dmitri: You are activated :-)
About Pente board size - yes, I am already working on that, I will add more sizes ASAP.
About Chess variants - why not, they look very interesting :-)
About Scrabble - I have no licence for implementing Scrabble (it is a trademark of Mattel). Maybe later.
Nytedream: Strange. But the font size could be the problem. I will do some tests.

Niki: Are you using Netscape 4.xx? This browser always displays "spaces" between table cells, there is no way how to force it not to do it. Internet Explorer and Netscape 6+ can display it correctly.
eddie: Good idea. I will do it.

Right :-)

MadMonkey: That's a good question ;-)

I am currently developing several games at once - battleboats, pente, keryo pente, go-moku and sabotage.

IYT seems to manage with no problems because they probably run their site on much faster computers :-)

TinMan: Yes, that's a good idea! I'll do something like that :-)
Hannelore: Okay, I will think it over.

Subject: Re: Drop list
Kevin: I will probably add a new menuitem in the left column.
MadMonkey: The problem is in the drop-down list component itself, you cannot highlight some lines in HTML. Maybe I cound split it to two drop-down lists instead ;-)

25. February 2003, 08:22:20
Fencer
Spencer: Yes, why not. Later :-)

23. February 2003, 14:42:14
Fencer
So that's it! But I would have to add some method to split too long "words" to more smaller pages ;-)

MidnightMedic: Which web browser do you use? I've never had such a problem. And can you give me a game ID where I can see something like this?

19. February 2003, 18:28:39
Fencer
Oxe: Yes, I plan to add it.
sundance: I don't want to change the current Five in Line rules but I will add some variants, etc.

18. February 2003, 09:13:12
Fencer
I will look at it.

15. February 2003, 19:13:47
Fencer
dream: Yes, I like this IYT feature. It is already on my TODO list :-)
hrlqns: There is not enough space to list all teams. Imagine that you are a member of all teams of eddie spaghetti's fellowship - it would take the whole page to display! ;-)

15. February 2003, 11:39:19
Fencer
dream: And what if both players don't want to finish a game because of a lack of time? Instead of one of them timing out, they can agree with a draw which is a better choice for both of them.

15. February 2003, 11:30:17
Fencer
eddie: But such a box could help players to find a winning move, eh? ;-) I'm not sure if it would be popular.
dream: It is a risky proposal. In general, you can negotiate a draw in any game, if both players agree with it. I think it causes no harm if I leave the draw offer for all games :-)

Subject: Re: Automatic Game Invite..
Have you ever tried to read a message after your game is finished? There is a small form "Invite this user to a new game of [the game]" :-)
Or should I place it elsewhere?

14. February 2003, 10:35:51
Fencer
I like how IYT solves this issue. I will only improve it by several ideas of mine.

14. February 2003, 09:25:44
Fencer
dream: Of course :-)

13. February 2003, 12:43:29
Fencer
hrlqns: Good point :-) I will add it.
Rabbits2: I apologize that it is not done yet. Because of recent server problems, I had no time for it. I will concentrate on it now.
PastaPatty: Yes, thanks for reminding me. I will implement battleboats just after creating bigger backgammon boards.

Subject: Re: annotate games
Do you want just a form to write simple annotation text or some more advanced tool to support chess annotation rules etc?

Fencer
Subject: Re: Messages with invitation to msg archive
It won't be a big problem.

11. February 2003, 08:22:22
Fencer
Sure :-) Later.

9. February 2003, 14:38:44
Fencer
sundance: I'll add it to my TODO list.
hrlqns: I will write some FAQ or Help issue. But it is exactly like Mike writes.

7. February 2003, 22:28:45
Fencer
Actually, it is possible to implement but with the limitations as Stingeroni writes. Do you think it would be still acceptable and playable?

5. February 2003, 14:44:43
Fencer
I verify that.

2. February 2003, 18:47:39
Fencer
shaggath: I've never read the rules on chessvariants.com. Just take it as a different chess variation.

2. February 2003, 17:01:15
Fencer
shaggath: I don't think so. When a player captures an opponent's piece, it is his extra piece and doesn't matter if the piece was promoted or not.

Thanks! :-)

rabbitoid: Where can I find the rules?

I will fix them.

Thanks Rose :-) But I relax every day. I am connected to BrainKing only 2-3 hours daily and I work on BrainKing new features no more than 6 hours a day. It is like a normal full-time job.

Ah-ha! Now I understand. I didn't know about this rule :-) Okay, I can do it. But if you cannot make a valid move with the first die, the dice are automatically swapped.

Subject: Re: A little hint for Fencer...
I think that this is already implemented, isn't it? Or am I missing something? The first dice roll shows which player starts a game.

Lindalou: I don't have any translation program and that would cause a terrible server overload. Maybe later.
Emma: Yes! I'll update the TODO list.

Subject: Re: Dark Chess
Yes! And very soon. But I would like to solve this problem - if a user who doesn't play some dark chess game looks at it, what he can see? I would say nothing because if he sees white's or black's pieces, he could say it to the corresponding player and the player would know where the opponent's pieces are located. Or am I not right?

MadMonkey: Thanks! :-) But there are too many flags, I am a little confused. I can use St. George's Cross for England, St. Andrew's Cross for Scotland but which flag would be the best for Wales, St. David's Cross?
