Things I found this morning that I hadn't noticed before.

What would the chances be of having a "no right click" on peoples pics that are posted here....there are idiots that save these pics and use them to post to other sites without the permission of the person whose pics they are.
Or better still....BAN the person/persons concerned, who are posting the pics.
I know the right click thing wouldnt solve it completey but it would help to a certain degree

Andersp: comcast works pretty good , in the phila area,Bk has its problems as you know, but not that bad in my opinion, even using wifi earthlink in philly, BK still works ok, not perfect mind you, but ok by me

Find the YouTube video you want, to the right you will see where is says Embed.
Under that is a Link, just copy and Paste that to where you want to show it

I can't find the old entry where it is explained how to add a YouTube video to one's Profile. I've heard that one must use the code from the embed field. I don't know what that means. If anyone has time, can someone please explain how to do this?

redfrog: You need to tell us which Internet Provider you are using so we all can enjoy the same problem free Brain King as you do!!

redfrog: Well if it is a problem somewhere between BK and user, it makes sense that a page with less information will take less time to transmit then a larger page with more information. (yea, normally with good connection you are talking about fractions of a second worth of extra data - but when there is a slow connection, you could be talking seconds per page saved - which when you have to load many pages right after one another, that can add up to a lot of saved time... and in turn, will give the users even a better illusion that the site is running faster.)

coan.net: I havent been having any problems either - so again it seems odd that we automatically assume is a BK issue when not everyone is experiencing trouble - but i do have to agree that a simplified version of the site would be a nice addition to the growing list of cool features on this site... and btw - im happy to see people using this board to voice concerns without rudeness - and for the most part without sarcasm!! How refreshing....

And as to the subject of discussion.........I didn't even bother asking to have my time out games reinstated after the clinical death because I am so "over" this site. Enough with breakdowns, shutdowns and slowdowns. I would love a return to the game site I joined a couple of years ago where it was fun to come and play instead of being weighted down with little red numbers and fancy crap I never imagined let alone thought I might want or need.


PS. I wish my cursor would turn into a shining sword of steel so I could rid myself of the beast for good!

Binabik: yea, that has been my request (along with many others) - that is just to have a very striped down version of the pages - with just the information needed (like game, game stats needed to play game, and that is about all. (along with a link to the "full" in case you want to know what your BKR change will be, what tournament it is in, etc.....) (I wrote in detail once what should and should not show up on the page somewhere.)

I'm not having issues right now, but that still does not mean I would not like to see this request. This is first a game site - so a page that has a way to play the game without all the extra "fluff" would be a great addition to this site.... not to mention hopefully speeding up site speed for players.

beach: I agree with you, the fun part has become scarce - it's become a relief to go to another site to make my moves there.....

Binabik: I agree, I found since christmas that this site has been painful to attempt to play on it. It takes forever to make a move, it has become a chore for me more then a fun place to come and play. I know we aren't supposed to complain about the speed, but I agree maybe alot of these extras we seem to be getting are really not need, after all its supposed to be a game site, hopefully the speed improves in 2008

Sometimes I wish we could have a twin site for BK - without all the bells and whistles, just a site where you play the games. It seems that every time improvements are made, it takes the site several days, at minimum, to recover. For the last week, again, it's been so slow - the pages load in pieces, it takes forever to connect and again there are the darn white pages - "Try again later"...... Of course there will be times when there will be some problems - but this is getting so frustrating. Oh, I know, I'm not supposed to say anything about it anymore, but sorry, I consider it my right as a paying member to bring this up... again...... especially since plenty of other players are experiencing the same thing..... again....

Fencer - Thanks for the explanation - and i can only imagine the frustration of such an event from your point of view - thanks for being so quick with improving the site's ability to detect such a horrific event should it happen again in the future - i suppose its only through time and experience that problems such as these are discovered - but its good to see that you are on top of fixing these things as they present themselves. No mention of the clock being stopped, in fact no mention on anything

MadMonkey: I added an additional board to a fellowship but wasn't able to add a link to it on the other boards other than in an actual post or put a descriptive message on it. It would be helpful to be able to do that.
