Daniel Snyder: Oh great. So now we'll have people deliberately prolonging the game just to try for the record. A sort of Anti-Hyper backgammon.

Tavli is a set of three gammon games... portes, plakoto and fevga. They are usually played as a set for points. Portes is virtually the same as backgammon on here.

I bet there'll be a load of Greeks coming to the site when you do have tavli! Although portes is the most popular individual game, the set of three is regularly played in tavernas and the coffee shops.

Is it on the 'to do' list?

I'm sure you two guys are right about the luck aspect. The cream will always rise to the top eventually. The more games used for calculating the rating the better.

Could someone please explain to me what a 'gammon' is and what a 'backgammon' is?
