The rating system's great, I can draw a game with someone rated 357 points below me and not lose any points!

Mamba: that's the general idea behind the rating system: you get more points if you beat higher rated players. higher rated players are (suposedly)harder to beat, so when you win a game against one, you get a bigger reward. Makes sense, no?
Also, if you are 400 points behind and win a game against a big player, you'll get more points then if you're ratings are similar.

Of course there are other factors like number of games played and I think the formula is different if it's an established rating or a provisional one. But the general idea is the same.

i won a game with Diogenes..i got 17 points
i won a game with Hanis...i got 18 points
both of these players had over a 2000 rating at the frog game when i won...
anybody i win a game with playing frogs that's below 1500 in points i get 0 points...now why did somebody get 38 points when they won agame with me at anti-frog..???.. me an unrated player at anti-frog..38 points..!!!...i'm sorry but i just don't think the points are being dished out fairly here.....also...now that i'm talking points.....when the site fried in october of 2003 and we were all assured that our points and ratings would be reinstated if we sent a message about what our scores were....and to go ahead and resign games we previsiouly had won ..well when you readjusted the points last week you must have forgotten all that because i now have losses for the games i resigned that i wouldn't have resiged if i wasn't assured all was ok....

I think New Zealand is +12 GMT/UTC with fixes according to DST.
So now it's +13 GMT/UTC.......

you can always set your clock to GMT-11 and tell your computer he's got the date wrong :)

But New Zealand is +13 GMT. It is half an hour away from the 15th.

The dropdown list contains all zones from GMT -12:00 to GMT +12:00. It must work for everyone.

unfortunately that doesn't work for us in New Zealand, have it set at the furtherest time but still shows one hour behind what the time actually is, no other options after that.

Bernice: Then set the next time zone. Names of cities are just as a hint, the time shift value is more important.

BK has time zones with Brisbane, Sydney, Vladisvostok (sp) as the same time....

at the moment Sydney is ONE HOUR ahead of brisbane and will be for the next 6 months...can this be rectified?

Mamba: The amount of points gained or lost is mostly dependent on the two ratings. Even unrated players actually have a rating, it is just not displayed. So they might have a very high rating or a very low rating, both affecting your rating very differently.

if i have someone on enemies, and Im actually playing a game with them..does the little green dot appear by their name? or are they hidden because i have them on enemies?

i have a question about how the points are given for a rating....i've played unrated players at froglet and get maybe 4 or 5 points if i win ...i just lost a game of anti-frog and the other person got 38 points....how is this big of a difference in points possible...we've both played about 30 games of the respective games but i only get a few and they hit the jackpot

In the player list, you can sort by first signin date, which orders it by ID number.
