Mrs.Reeves: From the rules page:
"Crawford rule: If a player reaches a score which is only 1 point away from winning the match, the next game is played as a Crawford round. In a Crawford round, the double cube is not used. If this round is finished and the match is not completed, the doubling cube can be used in all following games of the match."

That match is 1 point away from over. So the Crawford rule applies I think

I am currently playing the above tournament, but it isnt offering me or my opponent the cube choice, when it should be. Any advice why this is.

I still agree with plaintiger that a tiny hint about this new system would entice more people to take advantage of this offer! (It might work on me! :-D

Does this mean if I pay on my membership with my previously earned brains, will apply???

Fencer: Hmmm.. that's not how I read it. The way I interpret it is, that if you buy membership in the month of January, you get these 200 brains. Maybe you meant to say "and make it to January 2007"?
So are you saying any memberships bought in 2006 get 200 brains??? I'm confused! LOL (possibly not all that unusual for me!) :-D

Modified by plaintiger (21. January 2006, 05:33:12)
the news has for some time said: Everybody who pays for any kind of membership (or extends the current one) and makes it to the end of January 2006, will automatically receive 200 free Brains to be used in the new tournament system, which is planned to be released in February. All details will be posted on the Brains page in advance.

it occurs to me that if we had some hint about the nature of this new tournament system, and what part Brains will play in it, the offer of 200 Brains for extending membership might be a bit more enticing. until we know what this new tournament system is, and what Brains are going to have to do with it, we don't know what value to place on that offer. am i going to have any interest in participating in the new tournament system? what does 200 Brains get me under this system? i don't know. therefore i don't know if the offer of 200 free Brains means a lot to me, or nothing.

I believe so...

"What can I do with Brains?
You can use the Brains as a virtual money to pay for your membership on BrainKing. The amount is equivalent to the amounts in CZK. For example, if you want to buy one-year Brain Knight, you must have at least 500 Brains. When you have enough Brains to buy the particular membership, a new form will appear on the Profile page of the user you want to buy a membership (yours or anybody else's) and you will be able to use this way of payment."

Check your profile page. It will tell you if you have enough.

Time per move and vacation modes
# Fixed weekends only - if a game is created with this option, the player's weekend settings are ignored and the standard Saturday-Sunday weekend is used. Moreover, no other vacation days are calculated for this game time. Such game invitations or tournaments are marked by a green dot.
# No days off - this game is played with absolutely no days off and the time range between moves is never longer than the defined days/hours per move value. Such game invitations or tournaments are marked by a red dot.
