If someone has surpassed the 2000max that I stipulate for a tourney may i remove that person or ask that they remove themselves. I know it isnt their fault that they have won the last 5 games they have played therefore greatly improving their score, but there was a reason for the 2000...can anyone advise me what would be the correct thing to do? I dont want to upset this person unduly :(

I have a tournament that has been running since last August to my knowledge:( ...it is called Bernice's Best BattleBoats Bruhaha (Battleboats)

Now the first round has just finished, there were only 14 players and it was a 5 day mover.

Im reluctant to start the 2nd round owing to the fact that ONE player has taken since forever to make their moves. This will be a 3 game match...Can someone change it to a sudden death playoff, and I will start it. other wise how can it be deleted with 1/2 tournament win give to the 2 people concerned

I will probably get pounced on by LongJohn for this, but I have had my doubts of this person now for 2 months and have OPENLY said so on this board and one other board only to be cried down and told to take my complaints elsewhere.
Maybe I am too quick to judge or maybe others are more trusting than I am, but LongJohn appeared to me to be artificial shortly after he introduced himself to me and requested to join my fellowship.

I understand just how you feel and actually wrote to a couple people on here with misgivings about his tournaments and the fact that he had changed the rules:( I said I was reluctant to post on THIS board the fact that this had happened, because of the abuse i would have to endure from LongJohn. I was told to just let it go as people would find out in good time....obviously too late now...

I would apologise to you and others that I didnt post on here about the change of rules and the fact the prize would not be on offer....IM SORRY

you say they are (his) tournaments...of course they are....
but to offer prizes, get people in under false pretenses and then launch it with no offer of a prize is surely unethical.

4 tournaments that I know of have offered prizes and if you look at them running or whatever you wont see too much...
(1) backgammon race - prize offered 50 brains
(2) backgammon 6 months membership
(3) backgammon THE LARGEST PRIZE etc etc
(4) the $10,000 that never got past the first day

this is false advertising and very unethical, and should be controlled.....

When prizes are offered (by ANYONE) they should be paid up front before the tournament is even opened to the public....that way people can see that it is genuine.

This is happeneing far too much on here and it is giving a bad name on other game sites...all are talking :(

Molly just asked me about lots of backgammon games that have appeared on her main page and the games have NO TOURNAMENT name...she asked did i have anything running....I told her no and I would check for her....
if you look very closely there is a teeny weeny live spot link....the Organiser of all these games appears to be someone we all know.
