Jason: better, i think, would it be to group them by game type or time per move

hmm .. i think you already had that in your suggestion as the waiting games are split among the game types as well :)

so you can just ignore this message :)

Czuch Chuckers: 2* 21 ? i wish :)

i get 5*5+13 days per year .... 5 weeks holiday, and 13 special days .. most specials days are fixed already .. but some are left for me to spend, the 5 weeks can be taken in parts as well :)

on holiday i wont be on the internet at all .. even when i can i wont .. it wont be a holiday that way :) .. i often track around in holidays in other countries

again .. i thought i was on the chat board .. end of the week .. i see numbers everywhere :)

Czuch Chuckers: i like the long time on it so i can still join the tournament although i will be on holiday soon

(i didnt join the last though as 21 days is just too little .. with the weekend days added i could barely make it .. but i dont want to be forced right back to the computer when i get back :))

for rooks it shouldnt matter how long the time limit is .. it isnt a minimum time per move .. so most games are rather fast

there are more tournaments with faster times so they can be used as well ... but there might be more people who cant join such a tournament because of the fast timeouts .. a real championship should give everyone the opportunity to join .. thats why i like the long time per move as well :)

hmm .. what does 'cuentas' mean ?

(did you know the end of the spanish 'occupation' started in alkmaar, my home town! ;))

Subject: Re: Timeout question
galpal: when you resign that game you will have finished all your games in the tournament .. the tournament itself hasnt finished yet though so you would have to wait for that until you are 'released'

when you resign you wont be able to win the tournament or continue to a next round, so you can ask fencer (politely) in a pm to manually remove you from the tournament so you can join another tournament

(if there is a possibility to move on to a next round or win the tournament, then i dont think you can be removed)

Subject: s-b
i won the following 2 tournaments via the s-b points

http://brainking.com/nl/Tournaments?tri=22439
http://brainking.com/nl/Tournaments?tri=21880

the funny thing is the first i won against someone with a lower bkr and a lower seed
the second one i won against someone with a higher bkr and higher seed

(of course the bkrs are useless as they have changed, but the seeds havent, so their bkr was already lower and higher than mine at that time)

cant you run it as a normal tournament but promise them winner to send it yourself .. without really defining it as a prize tournament

ClayNashvilleTn: not impossible when you are a new player at the game on here .. i somehow won my first 4 games of swap five in line .. placing me at #1 ... i could have joined a low level tournament .. then play my first 4 games .. and be way out of limit

(dont worry i am down to earth again i lost my other 2 games :))

yes it does .. but i was around 2100 at that time ... so as soon as i was above 2100 i signed up ... i would finish some more games before the tournament started .. and drop below 2100

so i would be below the minimum when the tournament started

i think thats what the hitman talks about ?

Subject: bkr minimum
i think i dropped below the bkr minimum some times (bg 2100+ tournaments) and nothing happened .. dont know for sure though .. but it guess i did :)

Subject: Re:
furbster: i thought tournaments already kicked players out who are too high ?

i couldnt join some tournaments because my bkr was either too high or too low

i am not sure though if thats just at the moment when i sign up .. or also when the tournament actually starts

what happens if a players raises above (or drops below) the set bkr limits during the tournament ? should the player be removed as well ? ;)

THE HIT MAN: the tournaments starting time arent checcked every minute, so it can show minus a couple of minutes before it starts .. i think this wont be longer than 10 minutes though (i think the starting times are checked every 10 minutes)

Kamel: when you go to the name of a player you see an envelop next to it .. click on it and it will send you to a screen in which you can send a message to the player only .. a pm (private message)

or go to someones profile and click on 'send message'

of course ue can buy a membership and give it away to the winner of the pond .. although it wont be done the same way as an ordinary prize tournament .. it can still be done (i guess ;))

as bbw said the exact prize was never mentioned

i also remember seeing a description like that

but it also depensd a lot on luck, so snigle games wouldnt be as nice ..

plus the more games the better! (its addicting ;))

i vote for starting options as well

lets suppose you start with 10 points for everyone .. then more than 1 player will bet 1 .. which causes a tied bet .. even a tied lowest bet .. which causes more than 1 player to fall into the pond

of course 10 points is a bit extreme, but the same can happen when you start (for example) with 100 points .. especially after a few rounds the lwoer players dont have much choices anymore and there will be some tied lowest bets causing more people to drop in 1 round

10. January 2005, 20:07:48
Hrqls
and people would be more likely to bet lower .. so more than 1 player can fall in the pond per round

Subject: finished tournament
when does a tournament show up in my profile when i filter to show only 'finished' tournaments ?

i only have 2 in there while more have finished (i have won 4, so i guess those are finished arent they?)

true

i didnt look at the section size .. but people said they didnt want to play with teams of 12 persons because they would have to play too many games that way .. that confuses me

7. December 2004, 10:41:44
Hrqls
the bigger the teams needed the less games people have to play in a team tournament .. isnt it ?

lets say we have 120 players ... which can be either 10 teams of 12 players or 20 teams of 6 players

the 10 teams of 12 players let all 12 players of each team play against the corresponding player of all other teams .. giving 9 games per player in a team

for the 20 teams of 6 players this would mean 19 games per player in a team

maybe i am confused though ;)

heh if anyone want to to play in the five in line team tournament .. we have 6 players in our team now .. need 6 more :)

what happens if the final game in a tournament is a draw ?

i am in a line 4 tournament now .. in the first round we all had to play two games with our opponents, one with white and one with black. in the final round we only play 1 game .. why is this ?

4. November 2004, 13:14:11

what would the price have to be ?
you can already have a half year knight membership for only 10 euro .. isnt that cheap enough ?
