Only on  a politics board can a thread start about 911, morph into a discussion on smoking, and then change once again into comments about abortion, back to smoking,  and end with my dumb comment here.

Bwild:  Clinton blundered and the US is mistaken to let aliens into our country unabated.  The system allows for aliens to attend our colleges and train in our other institutions.  We believe in "freedom" but officials seem to have forgotten the lesson of the Trojan horse.   Not only do we let the horse in, we built it in the first place.  Time to burn that thing to the ground.

England has a huge Muslim problem.   America will too if it doesn't wise up.  Some people want to enter our country not for the freedoms we offer, but they mean to do us harm.

Czuch:  They just find another site that "refutes" the findings.   How many men were involved in Watergate?  Just a few.  And they couldn't keep their mouths shut as they ratted each other out.  So now we are to believe that a major conspiracy involving perhaps hundreds of participants has succeeded in doing the impossible.  When something happens in my classroom and I want to know who did it, I know that everyone will rat out the offender.  And once the offender is ratted out, he will tell all he knows about others.  He's not going down alone.  That scenerio is far more believable than a host of offenders keeping themselves collectively quiet about their crimes.

Jim Dandy:  It's not garbage to criticize it.  Obama and his crew are trying to ram this bill down out throats when clearly it's a huge mess.  It's not just Republicans that are calling attention to the problem, economists are too.  Why spend all that money without careful analysis of the ramifications of each measure?

Subject: Re:
Jim Dandy:Not judging his "record" but judging his most recent actions and decisions.  Not a good start.  He's shown great skill at campaigning, not so much as a leader, so far.

His recent comments aimed at Republicans who had criticized the "stimulus" package as nothing more than a "spending" package displayed a side of Obama people haven't seen much of.  He showed a lack of leadership and demonstrated he is not above using mockery and sarcasm to blast his opponents.  Yeah, that will win them over.

The problem is, thinking people understand that what the Republicans were pointing out by calling it a "spending" package, is that the so-called "stimulus" package will not do the very thing it is supposed to do.  As Bwild has pointed out, it's a pig with lipstick.  All the "spending" attached to the stimulus bill is just a repeat of old failed economic policies the democrats are famous for.  Pet projects and paybacks to political supporters are NOT going to create the kind of jobs that benefit the man on the street. Most Americans view Obama's plan with doubt and most also agree that the democrats crafted it with unnecessary "spending."  The republicans are just trying to draw attention to the fact that spending money for the sake of spending isn't the answer the American people are hoping for.  Anyone can "spend" but it takes real leadership to spend it in the right way.  Obama has failed in a big way here.  This stupid idea (crafted by the dems) will not only fail, but it will put the US economy in a worse state.  But hey, Obama can always blame Bush once again.

I did  read somewhere that scientists have found a way to fertilize an egg using a woman's DNA (something like that) but it's not a perfected process.  They are able to make a "sperm" with another woman's DNA.

Ok, fine.  So two lesbians could theoretically have kids this way.  Then it would be true that a woman doesn't need a man (except it's men who discovered this process).

And we've already had a pregnant man (sort of) so I guess men don't need women either.

It's a scary world out there!  Science is changing everything.  And the potential for abuse is staggering.

Snoopy:   What she did was irresponsible.  She can't afford those kids.  Now she has 14.   Lives with her parents in a three bedroom.   And it's all because she doesn't want to be lonely.  She could have gotten a puppy.  One person can't possibly take care of all those kids.  So the US taxpayers will have to foot the bill.

AFAIK, Britain has a law that you can only implant 2 embryos.   The clinic that implanted 8 was irresponsible too.   It's not enough to "love" children to raise them properly.  They don't stay young and cute.  I hope things work out but I feel sad for the kids.  If things go bad, they will be the ones to suffer.

Let's see, there are 305,758,372.  Kinda like democrats that vote.  More vote than are registered.  More are registered than the entire population of any given State.  So at least her math is consistent!

I can tell you from experience that what that caller said is so very true.  I've seen dozens of examples of that sort of thing.  Kid has a kid, is irresponsible, and grandparents raise the child.  Meanwhile, the "mother" gets all kinds of government assistance.  My brother is one of those grandparents.  He's been raising two of his grandkids (and he's a step dad).  Coulter is spot on with regard to single parents (statistically speaking).  There's always exceptions but exceptions don't make the rule.  Society would do well to pay attention to the research she cites.

DEMOCRATS BY THE NUMBER New Townhall.com blogger Dwayne Horner
recently compiled a stunning list of the tax transgressions by those
writing, creating and implementing the nation's tax policy. And so much more here.

$34,000: the amount of federal taxes that Secretary
of the Treasury Timothy Geithner (D) failed to pay during his
employment at the International Monetary Fund despite receiving extra
compensation and explanatory brochures that described his tax
liabilities.

$75,000: the amount of money that the head of the powerful
tax-writing committee, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY), was forced to report
on his taxes after the discovery that he had not reported income from a
Costa Rican rental property. His excuses for the failure started with
blaming his wife, then his accountant and finally the fact that he
didn't speak Spanish.

$140,000: the amount of back taxes and interest that Cabinet nominee Tom Daschle (D)
was forced to cough up after the vetting process revealed significant, unexplained tax liabilities.

$800,000: the amount of "sweetheart" mortgages Senate Banking
Chairman Chris Dodd (D-CT) received from Countrywide Financial, the
details for which he has refused to release details despite months of
promises to do so.
