is there any way that i can arrange my games on my main game pages in order of HAVING NEED TO BE PLAYED...
playing the most urgent and able to leave the longer movers for later.....it isnt that i would want to hold anybody up but it really annoys me to have to look thru ALL games to find which need to be played first????????

You wont need to do that on BK 2.0 AD, there is a sent message box LOL

I just sent a message to myself! What should I say back? j/k (didn't know that could be done either.) What other cool changes are coming with 2.0?

:)

woah! that's a cool little feature I didn't know about. :) proof that you're never to old to learn new stuff...or something like that. Thanks :)

Yup, Like rose says - just do it from your Message box.

... I do that all the time when i want to send messages to BIG BAD WOLF (yes, send messages to myself so I can keep important information / notes about stuff!) :-)

If you go to message box click send message, and if the person is on your friends list you can send a message that way pretty fast, if they arent in your friends list just type their name is and the database finds it for you

but it would be nice to be able to send a message to someone without having to go to their profile page...something like "msg" next to their name...the profile pages take so long to load.

I second that idea. It sure would make our main page less cluttered looking and faster access to those boards we want to get to the quickest.

Here is what I would like to see when if comes to fellowships & Favourite boards.

In the FELLOWSHIP list (which is below the Favourite boards list on my screen), I would love to see the (X new) message next to there when there are new messages in the fellowship. (And if you click on the (X new) directly, it will take you to the board to read.)

Why would this be good:
1) You don't have to have every fellowship that you belong to also on the favourite boards list - basicly listing all my fellowships I belong to twice. (the fellowship in the fellowship list, and the fellowship board in the favourite boards list)
2) Many times, users forget to add the boards to their favourite list - this way they don't have too, they will hopefully see the (X new) message and come see what has been posted.
3) It would then (for me at least) allow me to remove all the fellowship boards from my favourite list, allowing only "system" boards to be there - which would help seperate "System" boards and "fellowship" boards.

Thats what that little bar does....wow, now i have a new toy LOL

14. April 2004, 11:40:55

LOL group them by most new messages ya mean?? Im sure that would be easy enough (although im sure fencer would know better LOL)

Dont want much does we Ian LOL anything to stop the need of having to use that gry bar at the right of the screen that makes it go down the page LAMO

14. April 2004, 11:27:35
MadMonkey
Exactly the problem, and as most of the time you are in games or maybe reading another board the bottom ones do get missed.
Maybe (looking at Fencer LOL), if a new message is placed on one of your favourite boards it automaticaly goes to the to top of your list :o)
(apart from your own BB fellowships, which should always stay there).

14. April 2004, 11:09:48
Badinage
That is my problem LOL, or maybe its cos i have so many favs LOL currently about 30 and the ones at the bottom do get missed from time to time LOL

14. April 2004, 11:07:50
MadMonkey
Now you got me thinking Aragon (and its early) lol, they should be grouped somehow.
Maybe public & fellowship, and then sorted into preference.
Personally, i think every BB should have there fellowships at the top of there list. There are some fellowships that i am in where i have there board on my favourites list, but if they are at or near the bottom, sometimes i dont even notice a post there.

14. April 2004, 10:55:17

LOL im told i get one every now and then :)

Perhaps in a persons settings that can set their 10 most fav or something so that thier Fav boards are sorted the way they want it?

14. April 2004, 10:46:11
Fencer
Personally, I will add new sorting rules, based on something else than a fellowship name.

I don't think any have been removed, mrloupcity.
A few 'big bosses' have invented their own new game for Brainking - 'Who can get their fellowship to the top of the 'Fellowships' and 'Favourite Boards' coloumns' (at the bottom of each of your pages).
They do this by adding punctuation marks before their fellowship name.
Personally, I wish they wouldn't bother.

Where some of the boards removed or have they just been renamed? It just seems to me that some of them are gone.

I know in Internet Explorer, the font size on a webpage will change if you hold down CTRL and use the scrool wheel on a mouse.

Since I do a lot of CTRL-C, CTRL-P (Copy/Paste) - I accedently change the font size on webpages every once and awhile.

I'm not sure what IE is.. I went into settings and found no link to change font size, or view...can you give me more help? Thanks

13. April 2004, 18:55:09

If you're using IE, try going to View, Font Size and set it to Medium - that happens to me sometimes too... :-)

13. April 2004, 17:09:59

Is the font or something changed on the main page? My list of fellowships and discussion boards seems like the print is smaller, or thinner or something...anyone else notice this?

AD: Sounds like a server-side webcache (ala squid) which I've -always- had a problem with. S'posed to make your browsing go faster, but it's only ever caused me problems. :/

Fencer (re: paypalsucks): Just confirms what I've thought since the first time I went through their 'sign up now' speel (and followed some of the finer print). I've never had a paypal account, refuse to do business with anyone which requires paypal, and never will do paypal. :/ (Which is why I go through your customer reps. ;)

I read that site often - along with a couple of others... which is why I'm VERY carefull about what I do there, and if I accept them on my eBay auctions.

But persoanly, I have never had a problem with PayPal.

I was actually looking at that site earlier today when I was searching for information on money bookers, since that site has a list of alternatives to PayPal.

But I always keep an open mind, and I have been reading that site for awhile now.... Hum.... I think I might have even posted about that site on this site long ago... :-)

12. April 2004, 17:25:15

BBW: No details like that have been planned yet, I am currently gathering information :-)
Btw, speaking of PayPal, what do you think about this site?

12. April 2004, 17:15:57
coan.net
Fencer - How soon are you planning not to accept PayPal/Swerg?

My membership is comming up soon, and even though I have not heard anything good/bad about this new site - I really don't like giving bank/credit card info to anyplace new (other then PayPal) - so I need to make sure I get my membership in before this changeover or I might have to go without a membership for awhile.... and I don't know if I could handle that! :-)

Bernice: There is no reason to use secure protocol on public pages :-) But after you log in, evrerything is done through https. I would use it on BK as well but the certificate is too expensive [800 USD a year].

I put in http://moneybookers.com
no https there:(
please who me where:) im havent been into the site in DETAIL

Btw, there is one interesting paragraph regarding credit card payments on moneybookers.com:

"Your customers can pay you immediately via credit card, even if they are not yet registered with Moneybookers. All they need is to have their mobile phone ready to allow us an instant transaction authorisation during the payment process."

How many people would provide their cell phone number for this reason?

12. April 2004, 09:38:53
Fencer
Bernice: Who doesn't have https? Moneybookers have it.

12. April 2004, 09:33:35

the thing that bothers me is that they do not have a "HTTPS" security:(
but then what would i know :(

They want to verify your identity by faxing or e-mailing a copy of ID card with photo. I did it yesterday, now waiting for a response.

12. April 2004, 03:10:42
Kevin
It looks like you don't need a credit card to add funds to your moneybookers.com account either - i was looking through it and it gave you the option of a credit card or bank account...

12. April 2004, 01:23:59
Artful Dodger
That's how PayPal works Kevin so you're probably right. Then, once the funds are uploaded, I can just transfer the funds to the BK account. Sounds easy enuf and if it works better for Fencer, all the better. It may create a problem for some that don't hold a credit card though. You don't need one with PayPal.

11. April 2004, 22:48:46
Kevin
I took uploading funds to mean adding funds to your account (so you could pay someone directly from your account rather than with a credit card or whatever)...
