rod03801:  I didn't think I was right on that.  It's very odd.  I just checked another running invite only tourney that I'm not in and I can see the charts on that one.  Very strange.

rod03801:  It's a private "invite only" tourney so maybe that's why.  Unless your in the tourney.  Then I'm guessing you should be able to read it.  But I'm just guessing  :)

coan.net:  Ahhh.  That's good to know.  I just checked by setting up a test tourney and it did give me the option of making all the positions the same random configuration or making each game different.  So I can assume that either selection will result in the same kind of tourney:  a different random position for each game.

trohat:  I hadn't even thought of that.  I just went with the default settings except for the time and vacations.  But BBW is probably right that the positions will all be different random configurations.

When running a tourney, which games offer more even chances for the most people? For example, if one were to run a prize tourney, chess would eliminate a lot of people (as would games like Pente etc) because of its highly skilled aspects. Games like Dice chess offer a bit more equality but perhaps are too much on the chance end of it. What do others think?

Rose:  That's true.  Money for prize tourney's should show up right away or they shouldn't be posted.  IMO  I've run 4 prize tourneys and people have the right to expect the tourney $$ to be there sooner rather than later.

I'm going to be running a Rook Prize Tourney in the fellowship, Friendly Faces.
I want to give any of you that aren't members there a chance to join
the fellowship so you can also be in the tourney if you're interested.  ;)  Welcome one and
all.  ;)

The
game will be Ludo.  I picked that so that it will even the playing
field so more people have chances of winning.  It will be a 5 day
tourney.

Subject: As I did on the GC board
I've zapped a few posts on this board as well.  In fairness, I zapped all posts that were related to the thread and did not take into account the poster.  I'm blaming no one.  Just saying that the posts were in violation of the UA and they needed to go.  ;)  As I said on GC, I'll repeat here:

The purpose of this post is to let folks know of my actions.  If anyone
has an issue with what I've done in my capacity as a moderator of this
board, please PM me and I'll be glad to explain my actions to you.
Also, if you think I missed a post, PM me.  Some posts that were left
will not have proper context so I'll leave it up to the original
authors to deal with those.  ;)
