In such a case your action is understandable, I'll think about it.

I imagine the main function of CSRs is in paying subs so a player in Italy would have no need of a CSR in Argentina.

For example, how many CSRs are there for New Zealand? Unless one's rep. is local they're not a great deal of use.

An interesting point came up yesterday on General Chat in that there may be one or more customer service representatives who have members on their enemies list. I contend that it's impossible for a person to function as a CSR if they can not be reached by those very customers and would like an assurance that no CSR has any members on their enemy list.

Because of being dogged by LongJohn himself by all accounts.

Ratings are funny, look at the number of games considered then add up the broken down games, the totals rarely match.

Thanks. That's a wonderful resource, I'm thinking of timing out if the bug isn't corrcted in time but if such a possibility is available I wouldn't like to seem churlish.

The backgammon first roll bug is quite a problem. I've swapped dice and now the machine thinks I've lost the roll but if I pass the game to my opponent they'll probably also want to swap the dice and the whole palaver will continue ad infinitum.

Thanks. There is therefore no justification for a delete function in a game in which both players have made even one move, in fact it's nonsense isn't it? If you cant wait for a time out why accept a game at that time limit and how do you know the opponent won't make a move within the time limit?

30. August 2004, 16:02:59
ughaibu
I see. And even on the second move a game can be deleted, I always save my offensive messages till the third move.

30. August 2004, 14:02:15

What's the reasoning behind the "delete game" facility?

Had I done so I would have missed the beauty of my wife's reply. I'm not sure what the moral is but it feels like a story that should have one.

Getting back, briefly, to the "gloves or dloves", today I said to my wife "drosophila" and she replied "grosophila?". That's made my week, (within the obvious limits).

How about if posts are randomly redistributed across the liguistically divided boards? In that way we have to learn each other's language. According to the Guiness book the most "difficult" sound in any language is in czech, it's some kind of liquid gutteral from the throat (probably a nasal fricative to boot), a friend once demonstrated it to me, I replied "do you like gloves or dloves?".

I can understand why you banned me on the Gothic chess board. I would like to pose on that board the question of which present day social roles are represented by the non-chess pieces and even more so, who among the BrainKing members most exemplify the traits of those pieces. Would you do me the favour of posing such questions on my behalf please?

I'm playing in a 5 day/move tournament, at present all my opponents have at least 9 days despite the player with the least time having not moved for two days. Does it pass on to the next weekend or something? I never got the point of these weekends and for sure they should be limited to one weekend per move.

Redsales is correct about provisional ratings often being nonsense, there was recently a new tablut player who after four games had lost three with me and won one with an unrated player, this was enough to occupy second highest rated position.
