Fencer: I think that you (as site creator) must to separate handicap and normal games (and may be rating - not rating, visible - hidden too) in view of main page. It can be by means of the insert of new columns. What is your opinion?

Subject: Re: Shogi Handicaps
Fencer: No problem. If black make 1st move than weakest player have winnig position in 8 piece gandicap (white without Rook, Bishop and all Lance, Knight and Silver) after 1.P-7f 2.G-3b 3.B-6f 4.G-7b 5.Bx9c+. If white begin that they defend own position: 2.G-3b 3.P-7f 4.G-7b 5.B-6f 6.G-8b and white defend pawn on 9c.
But here can another explanation: white give material and must have compensation by doing 1st move.

Fencer: I found 1st error. White make 1st move, but not black! And game begin for recording from 2nd move.

Fencer: Thanks for new possibilities! It's very good! But how will calculate rating in gandicap games? If stong player give gandicap then the force of players is equalized. Therefore rating will calculate as players have equal rating. But it's correct not always. I not know this dependences.

I have been playing about 8 years, but I had 1 game with sennichite and 1 game on shogidojo.com where my opponent made repeating position with check to my king above 4 times (may be 8-10 times). In last cause DOJO-applet can't judge win to me -:(.
I is agreeable, that no one's are very rare in shogi, even it is almost impossible. But you know that if something must happen, this compulsorily will occur. Rules must give to us output even from the situations, which are practically impossible. And then someone must explain this to the end.
I obtained to this forum many interesting answers, after that to all to you the many thanks.
And still I understood that shogi still have a region for the their development, while in chess these problems are already solved.

Sennichite is 4th times repetition of position without of check, number and type of pieces in the hand, priority of move. After sennichite opponents revert colors (or side) and play new game. Winner of the 2nd game are winner this game.
Jishogi fix draw for professionals if each player have 24 and above points, for amateur both players must have 27 points for draw.
I have any question about Jishogi:
1) all pieces of the both players must stay in opponents promote zone?
2) for amteurs a Jishogi not made draw never? If both players have 27 points, then white (gote) win?

DragonKing: Here black (in Japanese style) made "mating net" around white's king, and they king are out of threat. Now black have mate threat: N-5c= mate. If white do move G-4b, then N-5c+ a)Gx5c Rx2b+ Bx2b S*4b mate! b)Gx4c Rx2b+ Bx2b S*5b mate!
You must enoght pieces in hand for mate!

Subject: Move without alternative
A little note about few types move.
When I make move my pown to last line it promote always, and program must promote pawn if I select it on prelast line. (P9b for black in Japanese and for white on it site :) next move will promote to P9a+ always).
Another pieces:
- Pawn and Lance if stay on line "b" in next move will poromote (1 times pressed), for white - line "h";
- Knight if stay on line "c" or line "d" in next move will promote too (1 times or 2 times pressed), for white lines "g" and "f".

2nd bug:
I select japanese type pieces (3 or 4 type). And when my piece must promote I see promoted piece type 1 (european type). It's not correct.

Another bugs I not see while, but you can see next:
- Pawn from "hand" cant give mate to King
- Lince and Pawn from "hand" cant put on line "a" for black and "i" - for white (in Japanese note)
- Knight from "hand" cant put on line "a" or "b" for black and "i" and "h" - for white (in Japanese note)
I hope that it correctly work.

Subject: Re: Shogi Variants
If you wish to get used to hieroglyphs on pieces shogi load and play with the program "Shogi Variants" (http://trout.customer.netspace.net.au/). Here many variants shogi with rules are presented. The program allows to see moves of the chosen piece or what fields are under attack of pieces (white and/or black).
It's very nice programm for 1st viewing shogi.
