Jim Dandy: I tried a number of things for the percussion and could come close but then realized there are 4 measures in the Jack Jackson version where it's just the percussion. I recorded that 4 measures, and ran it through my looper. So whoever was playing the percussion on the original is the one playing wiht us. ;) There's lots of things one can do with the JamMan! I love that thing.
I have a few other songs I'll post as they get ready. In one there is a complete drum accompanyment. It's my drum machine. I just have to push the buttons at the right time. ;)
Tuesday: Possibly. I'd rather he go free than be wrongly convicted and incarcerated. Just for the record, I have no opinion in his case - I don't know enough about it. But, thanks for the update.
Jim Dandy: OK, convince me. I'm not a big fan of the dance genre, so maybe I've shut him out, because of that. I got limited lyrics, and Michael Jackson affectations. Tear me up.
Subject: Re: Subliminal music, cats and Margaritas
Jim Dandy: The mistake was going into the store part. We could just go in and have a Margarita and leave. But, you might want to bring a basket to put me in afterwards, because nowadays, a shot of Tequila would put me in lala land.
I don't doubt his stuff is expensive. And, in Vegas, there are a lot of better things to spend money on. As far as the Hawaiian shirt is concerned.....I just don't see you in one anyway.

TexasToest: I've visited the store portion (a few times) of his bar at the Flamingo hotel in Vegas.I just can't make the leap to becoming another fat guy walking around wearing a colorful bermuda shirt,he knows how to charge too
Radiant2007 :-): No! No music plays when I come onto this board unless I click on it. I thought you were saying music starts playing when you get here.
Tigger: Awwww, you did great!! Good to see you out there doing something with your music. God loves to hear His children sing.
rod03801: You're right, that's about his most famous song. I knew all the words, did you? I had an experience with Margaritas in Puerto Vallarta in 1984 that's pretty outrageous. I was really disappointed I left my earcuff with the Pakistani star and crescent somewhere at the fiesta or in the cab on the way back to the hotel. No telling what I left that I just don't remember. I do know I was commode hugging most of the night after we got back to the hotel. It was the night I scared my friend to death when I crawled under a bus to get our tickets I'd dropped. Somehow, I assumed the bus driver understood me when I said, "Just a second." And, that was before the Margaritas. I don't drink much anymore. Aren't you glad? Jim Dandy: Jimmy Buffet owns a chain of bars called Margaritaville Caribbean. We should all meet down there some time, and check it out. Then, we could all be in heaven.
Jim Dandy: totally. I didn't think of it at the time. The hat is a Tommy Emmanuel hat and the shirt is full of different guitars. A present and I felt inclined to wear it. :)
It's one of the songs we did at our outdoor coffee shop performance. You can hear me sing. hahaha I'm only ok. But later I'll upload the girl singing. She will knock your socks off.
I'm trying to get a better video but I have to keep it under 100mgs. Hope you enjoy. Also, I do a little lead picking in it. Can you spot it? :)
TexasToest: You mean, only when you come to this board here music starts playing? LOL that is funny.. you must have musical tunes on the soles of you toes!!
Nirvana: Thank you for reminding us of our roots, Every story is multi-faceted, after all. It pays to listen in all directions before crossing. Beautiful music.

Tuesday: It was Napster's contention that the peer to peer sharing concept sold more recordings than it cost in royalties. I agreed with that. I got kind of "off" Napster when they (not Napster, the proverbial "they") started filing suit against people sharing files. That was pretty Gestapo in my book.
I think we've had enough input in here today to take weeks to sort out. There have been a lot of interesting things thrown out for our minds, and souls to consume.
Jim Dandy: Re: Off their first album titled WORD SALAD I agree with you he sounds somewhat like Pete Townshend. He has that strong voice, a similar timbre. I didn't realize you were the cave man type, dragging dates places. If that snaps your suspenders, I guess that's ok.
Re: This Al Green gem flew under the radar: He does seem to be seeking. That song must require multiple hearings to "get it", so I will listen again, and see how I feel then.
Re: An excellent cover of a classic A poignant piece, and I agree an excellent cover. She has a beautiful voice, and the arrangement of that song is quite unusual. Thank you for letting us share it with you.
