rod03801: as a Customer Service Rep, can you please suggest a board we may migrate to?

I see the point of the conversation also to include changes to this and therefore it should stay right here if the "changes" are discussed I feel.

Czuch Chuckers: Just a quick correction - if someone asked me (nicely) to move quicker in their games, I always help. It's the few (some which I don't even have any games with) that like to just cause problems, and try to make a big deal out of it - or the ones who don't understand how a turn-based games site works, or for some reason someone who got into a many-day tournament instead of a shorter time-limit tournament.

The cloak mode conversation needs to move to another board, please.
It is already a feature here.

Subject: Re:
grenv: Thats prolly correct.... someone like BBW has had problems mainly because he plays way too mamny games and ends up not playing very fast in most of them, and people wonder why he is not making his turns, and they see him at this fellowship, and that discussion board etc, doing lots of things but making turns, and they ask him to turn his attention to his games instead of the discussion boards and he doesnt like people to know that he is here so much, yet not spending much time playing games..... This is just my opinion and is just a example to make a point, not meant to be an exact representation.

The point is that most people who use the cloak mode do have something to hide , and most of the time it is something like the scenario I described above.

Well I've played quite a lot of games and made quite a lot of posts on various boards and nobody has said anything to me that bothers me, or even made reference to what I was doing.
I guess I'm just not a good target for harrassment or something?

pauloaguia: the more people the site shows online at any one time, the better it looks compared to other sites.
eg at the moment goldtoken has 112 and BK has 123
BK wins thanks to auto refresh !!!!!!!

chessmec: that way if you are playing games with someone and want them to know you are online, or simply want your friends to know, just add them to your friends list.
It also takes away the habit of so many people of addint enemies to their friends list just to keep tabs on them.
Fine, add an enemy, you wont see them but they will see you :)
Dano will see everyone then rofl

JamesHird: But that way you'd know when you're on someone's friends list ;)

On this issue: there is only one thing cloak mode has messed up for me - I can no longer say when a player is really online, visiting several pages on the site or just on the homepage with auto-refresh on and probably a mile away from the computer. Can't a player just go offline when (s)he's more than 5 min visiting the same page? I don't think autorefresh should give a player online status just because the page is constantly reloaded...

Apart from that, cloacked or non cloaked you're still all invited to play against me

I was making a joke with Rose. I agree with cloak as it stops questions etc.
I also agree with your suggestion more about being completely invisible when online.
I suggest that only people on your own friends list can see you when you are online

that some of us feel we have to use cloak. I am tired of ppl saying to me "why are you looking at my profile" er cuz it's there is the best answer I can come up with!!
Why were you on such an such FS for so long? why this, what that? the whole idea of ppl watching your every move is sooo Big Brother that im glad cloak mode is available. If you dont like me on cloak mode then hide me, block me do what ever you feel you must do but Im glad it is a feature here!!

I know that I already asked Fencer and he said he would think about this... but I'd love to hear others feedback...

What about an option to create in-game discussion open for all viewers? In Plente o' Pente f/s we are holding an Unrated Tourney for teaching, learning, and discussing strategy... it would be nice for all of us to read the comments of others....

Blackadder Mr K: That's just a battleboat variant with more boats. Except that you might be lucky and you win before you've sunk all.

A hard battleboats variant I used to play was that, just as in dark battelboats, you always get three shots. But if your salvo has any hits, all you are told are how many hits you have - not which shots were hits. But I wouldn't play such a variant here, just as I don't like playing dark chess or espionage on turn based sites.

Why not make a new Battleboat with fake boats ?
You can have one or two and the point is that you don`t know if you hit a boat or a "duck"
The game will take longer time to play and are much harder.
