Resizing did the trick. Thanks

Subject: Re:
Fwiffo: I renamed it to just one five letter word. It says that the system will resize it but I'll give that a go too, thanks.

I'm trying to change the flag on my fellowship and it keeps telling me (on several pictures) that the "file is too long". Any ideas how I resolve this?

anastasia: You can see all the invites on your main page, and as big boss you can accept them as well as the captain. But only the captain can invite other fellowships to a tournament. (I think!)

You create them yourself Radiant. On your main fellowship page where your teams are listed, under the list of team members (only if you are a captain, I think) you'll see a drop down box with fellowships which are able to be challenged. Presumably if they have enough team members. Then you select the fellowship you'd like to challenge and define your tournament.
The next bit is what I'm confused about! I seem to be able to accept challenges, even when that team has a captain who isn't me. So I'm not sure if the captain can accept them too.

I know I'm a bit behind but I have a couple of questions... why are some of the challenges in a red box? And can the captain accept/reject challenges and/or make their own? I see as big boss I can accept challenges, but can the captain too?

I believe Fencer has already settled this by saying he doesn't want it opening.

Subject: Re: Re:
Thats right, Purple. If a big boss states 'no leaking' - then any 'leaks' would need to be deleted by the mod of whichever board it appeared on. Even if there are no definite rules stated by the big boss, I think its still prudent not to take discussions from a fellowship to a public board.

13. May 2005, 20:03:26
harley
Czuch, my understanding is that fellowship topics shouldn't really spill over onto public boards. Not ones like these anyway, and especially when they're off topic to that public board anyway!
Posts from public boards shouldn't be copied to other boards, you're right about that.

Prize tourneys over at HOME fellowship!

Subject: HOME fellowship
It has been brought to my attention that a certain lady has been circulating rumours about being badly treated at HOME fellowship. A few members have left on her behalf, and I would like to say to them (and anybody else that has heard these rumours) that not one single word of it is the truth. HOME discussion board is open for reading by 270+ members, and any new member who requests membership. Not once have I seen any bad feeling on that board, and I'm upset that anyone has been saying these untrue things. HOME is a friendly group, and anyone who posts there is warmly received by all.

You must be, bwild. Go to HOME or Madhouse main fellowship page, and you should see a picture.

I'm not getting involved in the arguments of these people, they're all my friends. Well, most of them. I'm just saying how I saw it.

I seem to be reading a different board then. I've seen no worse there than I have here or at other boards. I'm not biased, I like all parties involved. I'll re-read the GZ board but I haven't seen anything that I thought was well out of order.

26. May 2004, 13:22:55
harley
I didn't realise you were a member, Steve :o)

Bernice, I don't know what you've been told about the GZ fellowship, but LJ has not been posting loads of derogative things about you. It wouldn't be allowed on any board.

As for the posts here, well if someone was watching me so closely that they noticed when I left a fellowship, well I'd be pretty angry to be honest and I applaud LJ/Maple Leaf for rising above the comments here and not responding.

Of course he cares! These posts aren't so bad and can wait for the moderator. If they get any worse and we may see another of Fencers 'spring cleans'! LOL!

4. May 2004, 16:40:11
harley
Even moderators have a life :o) Bumble will sort this out when he is able, and new options for moderators on BK2 will solve this problem.
Fencer doesn't like flame wars anywhere, the fact that the moderator has not been able to get online is no excuse for inappropriate posts.

26. March 2004, 21:06:11
harley
No that isn't right, IMupChucKing. In fact my name was mentioned as someone he wouldn't touch! What a relief for me, eh?
But I can't send you the posts as I would be breaking the rules, as stated by yourself.

26. March 2004, 20:59:35
harley
Well I don't know, ughaibu. Maybe we just have higher standards.

Star of Darkness, there is a list of BK representatives at Brainking.info

26. March 2004, 20:48:30
harley
No big cover up. I've said I'll pass the name along. Not that it would really matter, enough people were unhappy that if it hadn't been one person, it would have been another.
Ughaibu, you can't say nobody has a case to answer apart from the person who expressed concerns. Its not ok to talk in this way about women. Thats the bottom line. Not how it got out of the cave. Once people started talking in this way it became the business of the people named in there. And in my personal opinion, the business of every woman here who has a right to know how they are being talked about in this fellowship. But thats just my personal opinion.

26. March 2004, 20:30:34
harley
OK, IMupChuckKing, have it your way. I'll tell Fencer who sent me the posts, and he can deal with them as he sees fit.

26. March 2004, 20:28:16
harley
No, I do not have unlimited access.
Its not breaking the rules to report something that you think is wrong here. Because I do not have access to the cave, they had to send me the conversation. Thats a big difference to plastering it all over BrainKing and using it to cause trouble with.

26. March 2004, 20:21:07
harley
Nobody broke any rules. They reported a conversation to me. I took it to Fencer.

26. March 2004, 20:16:31
harley
No. It was sent to me so as not to bother Fencer with them. They could just have easily sent it to any other customer service rep. Thats what we're here for, to report things to that you're not happy with. They're not being protected or defended, they did not plaster it all over any board here, it didn't appear anywhere but in my mail box. I took the decision to report it to Fencer because I was disgusted with the content and it was too much for me to deal with. They were not 'snitching', I was the one to do that. They just expressed a concern about the content. I was the one to take it further.

26. March 2004, 20:10:22
harley
I don't think the person who sent me the posts should be banned. It wasn't done for spite, or for trouble. It was done by a very concerned member who could see things getting out of hand.

26. March 2004, 20:06:10
harley
BBW I read all the posts leading up to that. But even those posts alone, would be bad.

IMupChucKing, I had them sent to me, NOT by Bumble as some people seem to think, although he was also quite rightly angry about the posts.

26. March 2004, 19:53:30
harley
BBW, I understand what you're saying, but nothing was taken out of context. I'm really trying to avoid posting exactly what was said, but it could not have been made to look any worse.

26. March 2004, 19:37:59
harley
ughaibu, let me ask you this. I'm assuming you've now seen the posts from there? If you saw men discussing your wife in this manner, would you not be highly offended?
If you found YOU had been discussed in this way, in a place you would not normally visit, would you not feel used? Your name and image being used for perverted 'chat'. It really isn't pleasant.

26. March 2004, 18:04:13
harley
Ughaibu, maybe its because if men want to discuss their own preferences among themselves, thats up to them, but if they discuss the same subject about women who have no way to defend themselves in that fellowship then thats a whole new ball game. Then the subject is being discussed about women without their knowlege or consent. So when these women find out what has been said, it makes them mad that they are being talked about in such a vulgar way. Why is that difficult to understand?

26. March 2004, 17:37:58
harley
'Jules', no post was taken out of context, or distorted. It was a clear verbal assault on several female members here, and an insult to women in general.

26. March 2004, 08:56:21
harley
No Harley can't do that :o) If something is bad enough, I'll report it to Fencer. Hopefully there won't be many things bad enough for me to bother Fencer with them. The idea is to lessen his work load, not add to it.

26. March 2004, 01:12:58
harley
I won't be drawn into this here. Carry this on either privately or in the boiler room where there is less chance of kids reading it.
Its impossible to discuss this without mentioning what you have said.

26. March 2004, 01:02:53
harley
So are you saying that anyone who hasn't SEEN the posts shouldn't comment? That its ok to post like that as long as women don't get to see it?

26. March 2004, 00:35:56
harley
I can only speak for myself but Bumble did not copy & paste anything to me. Not all men at the cave share your sense of humour. Luckily for women everywhere, some men have respect.

25. March 2004, 23:03:55
harley
No, IMupChucKing. Just the subject itself, which is/was very adult in content, so will not be mentioned here.

25. March 2004, 22:51:16
harley
Steve, that particular word may not have been mentioned outright, but it was implied, and even if it was not intentionally implied - thats how women feel after being discussed in such a way. The content of that discussion was absolutely vile and has no place in normal society. The women on BrainKing are just as likely to be upset by that than if you had said it to them in a pub. Nobody wants to be discussed or thought about in that way.

Now although this is a fellowships board, and would normally be the correct place to discuss this, because of the content I would ask that any further discussion is sent to me privately. I'll try to explain why so many people are offended if you don't understand by what I have just said.
