Congratulations to Nomad, who has just been announced as winner this of this tournament, with all sections completed. Congrats James!

Also congrats to Pat (gooner), who was a very close runner up. Great job Pat!

Well done, Immortals :o)

This is simply a reminder to those who are participating.

The tournament will start later this weekend & please remember that all participants have agreed to play each side of the following opening in all games, through all rounds:

9-13 22-18 10-14

This is known as THE INFERNO opening, a very difficult one which has only been recently approved by the ACF for the 3-Move Restriction Deck, after extensive testing via Mail-Play.

If there is any confusion remaining about which move or moves to make to begin your games (to ensure The Inferno is being played), please contact me or Nomad & we'll do our best to set you on the right track.

I wish you all great gaming & sportsmanship in the tournament. :o)

Subject: Tournament Talk fellowship
I want to thank all the paying members of BK who joined the Tournament Talk fellowship and made it a fun place to be for a short while. The concensus seems to be that the fellowship is obsolete at this point, as we have a fine public Tournaments DB right here to post on, with the best moderator anyone can ask for. Also this is a place where pawns can participate, which adds to its value. I agree with this assessment and am therefore closing the TT fellowship with this post as an explanation to the members who may not have read the most recent postings in the club. Thanks one and all for your participation & support in making the club a success...and remember, we're on the best gamesite on the net so let's have some fun. :o)

I agree with you Stardust & back up Gothic on this. Look, this is a test flight. Rules fluctuate as new possibilities are considered. Details must be ironed out. Let's get real, folks. If Mr. Trice put up a cool million I wonder how many would be popping out of the woodwork demanding their "right" to a shot at it. This is ridiculous. :o)

I joked before but this measure does seem reasonable to me and I do see the point. After all it is not everyday $3,000 is put up for grabs. I would assume in such a case that the sponsor would have a right to take certain precautions. Just my thoughts. :o)

Subject: My Stupid Mistake
I reported that the KM Backgammon Open would be closed on the 17th (that was yesterday), then went to close it and discovered what I've always suspected: I'd lose my nose if it wasn't attached!!! The tournament is STILL open for seating and closes on Aug 27. So far we have 40 signed up which means it's gonna be exciting. Please join us if Backgammon is your game or if you are impulsive. lol. All aboard for this blockbuster Backgammon tournament which begins August 27. All are welcome and Seats are unlimited so come one come all and it would be nice for the Backgammon-lovers among us to come out of the woodwork and make this a tournament to remember. Just who IS the best Backgammon expert out there when the pressure is on? Perhaps he/she has never played and is just waiting to discover the game!!! No prisoners will be taken. TNP

Ed Trice is a con-artist extraordinaire. He wants to appear generous but he'll figure out a way to pocket the prize money while blaming the inferior idiots of BK for being stupid enough to join his tournament. We're far better off simply donating $50 to Fencer's fine, up-&-coming website. Which I will do at first opportunity and recommend highly to others. :)
