Subject: Last Call :)
Do you hate to play people who are much stronger or much weaker than you? Then these three tournaments are for you! Each is restricted to a specific rating range:

Summer games BKR >= 1800

Summer games BKR between 1400 and 1800

Summer games BKR < 1400

But you have to hurry up, all three will start tonight!

Subject: Re: Minimum number of players
Eriisa: Yes, you're right :) But my suggestion is about those tournaments who will never be filled, at least not with the number of players the tourney creator has set up. Take a look at this one: random elimination wild chess. The original starting date was May, 1st, currently nine players have joined, and unless a miracle happens the tourney will be deleted at the end of May. Why not let those nine play, regardless whether the 16 participants are reached or not. I would like to play and I wouldn't mind if I get a bye in the first round, and I would assume that the others won't care either. At least we could play from round two on ;)

Subject: Minimum number of players
I would like to suggest that elimination tournaments are not going to be deleted if the destined number of players were not reached. Currently you can't set a minimum number when you set up an elimination tournament, so if you set it up with 16 players, it will be deleted if only 15 have joined. Why not give one player a bye in the first round and let the others play? It's an elimination anyway, so from round two on it will be no difference any more. One could set 4 players as a system default minimum number, and every tournament with more entries will start as usual.

Subject: Xiangqi-Price-Tournament for players below 1800
Do you play Chinese Chess?
Do you have a Xiangqi-BKR below 1800?
Do you want to win a 1-Year-Rook-Membership?

Then this is the right tournament for you! Just join and try to be the best - the winner takes it all!

In order to keep the competition within the targeted rating range, three special rules will be enforced:

- No unrated players!
- Players whose BKR goes over 1799 until the start of the tournament will be removed!
- Players whose highest published BKR has been 1900 or above will be removed!

Subject: Re: question
Hi,

Groeneveld: I could start such a tournament but the probability that this tournament will attract 50 or even more players is quite small. Unless I would donate a couple of years of BK-memberships ;) The second reason, besides the one-year-membership, why the "Confucius"-tournament had so many participants was that Xiangqi was quite new on this site then.

So, if you want to have another great XQ-event you would have to donate something and you would have to wait a couple of months. Because at the moment the top players are waiting for the second round of the Confucius-tournament which is about to start soon. And most of the active XQ-players are involved in the Glenfiddich team tournament.

If you want to play a "normal" XQ-tournament there are always a couple of events where you can play all games including XQ: http://brainking.com/de/Tournaments?utf=&tp=68&submit=Zeigen&trnst=0.
