Thats a good idea bumble... it would be nice to have some fresh ideas from pawns out there.

The thing I like about a private board is that it doesnt have to be as censored as a public board might.

Is Fencer the only one who can start a public board? I would moderate :)~

ha is just the nature of debates about politics and religion. That is why many people avoid those subjects at all costs. ince most people have highly entrenched opinions, and tempers often flair. You need to have thick skin when you becopme involved in those discussions. I am really close to starting a new fellowship, for thick skin debators, who are able to mix it up without taking insults in the heat of passion, too seriously.

If one of the moderators of the other debate boards want me to lure the more fanatical debators away for them, or if there is anyone interested in debating/discussing issues with other like minded/ thick skinned people, let me know, and we can give it a whirl....

IMupChucKing: I didn't say that the two debating boards were public boards.
When I said that I was all for keeping political issues off the public boards I was referring to the exchange, on here (a public board), between yourself and danoschek.

I wouldn't dream of trying to dictate the content of either private debating board. The Big Boss would soon tell me where to go - and rightly so! Debate away with gay abandon on whatever topic takes your fancy.

I merely expressed the idea that a db, like this, for solely political comment might be advantageous. Pawns would be allowed to express their views.

the Debate fellowship moderators have their hands full, trying to keep actual debate going on in there. There usually ends up being insults that are uncalled for.ie: "drivel"

I agree with you IMCK - I have tried a few times posting on "different" subjects in both those board, but no one want to talk about anything else - so it usually gets back to the war & politics.

A couple of points Bumble...
The two debate boards you speak about are NOT public boards!!! They are private fellowships, just like Danos... Secondly, we (those of us that seem to dominate the boards with our American political discussions) have given several periods of 7 to 10 days without posting, to allow for other types of debates, from other people. The result has been days and days of no posting at all, or they turn into 'general chat' boards filled with idle chatter. Most recently was 2 days of conversation about male members stripping and female members coming in to watch the show. and talk about how sexy certain member pictures are etc....

I am not interested in Danostyle drivel, and I am sure he doesn't care, so I will not ever know/ But it is my prediction that there will be very little serious debate going on in his fellowship. (only time will tell) I wish him luck.

If the members of the debate, or uncensored debate are tired of American political topics, just say so and we will allow you to stay idle or be filled with idle chat.

If there is any interest in debate about politics and world affairs, and other topics not wanted on the other private debate boards, I am more than willing to start another fellowship! I do not think that we need 4 private debate boards to make people happy, but it seems clear that maybe we do?

Bumble :) I agree with you completely...especially when it is fully American politics...we are a multicultural games site and the rest of us cant even get a word in :)

But then politics and religion have always be the bane of the debating society :(

Good luck with your new fellowship, Dano!

I'm all for removing political issues from public boards!
Perhaps a Politics DB should be created? Political issues certainly seem to dominate both debate boards.

Club WebTV is indeed a very friendly fellowship. It's the most friendly fellowship on the planet.
In fact I am going to move to the States purely so that I can get Web TV and so be eligible to join this revered fellowship run by the admirable rod5683984737645.

That okay, rod? Not over-the-top at all?
