I reckon 'MadMonkey's Rubber Duckies' would sound better! You might not get many people signing but who cares? :)

oh yeah, i knew there had to be a reason, but it is for a good cause. Even with them, nothing can really change the outcome in that section of the tournament.

I noticed that when playing a team tournament game, there is no "Move and go to the tournament" selection at the bottom of the drop-down list. Is there a reason for this?

Also, the team tournament games in the member drop-down-list (the one that contains all of our games) are not marked with the *s like the regular tournament games. I think they should at least be marked somehow even if different from the regular tournament games.

the great thing is...if you UPGRADE to a brain rook...you can form your own fellowship, and start your own team! ;)

Yeah, that's rule number one. Then, you have to be a member of a fellowship, and a member of a team within that fellowship.

I've always found 3 day limits to be good - which is why almost all of the "Fast Start" tournament (which I need to start some again), always have 3 day limit.

Plus as I can tell we may need 40 days to get together enough 10 player 6x6 teams, 40 days seems like a long time to wait. 20-30 days would probable be enough in my opinion.

Team Tournament names:

  • Crowded Gammon: "Don't stand so close to me!" Tournament
  • Gammon Race: "zoom zoom - wanna race gammon?"
  • Nackgammon: "Nammon Gammon"
  • Battleboats Plus: "Plus size Battle at sea."

All the above would have very good turn out - could easly make 6-8 player teams.

But at least its 3 day moves LOL

Because I was looking forward to a 6x6 tournie which had the likely hood of being a quick one LOL
Then the bombshell hits, not a lot of chance of getting that many players to join so may aswell give up on the idea of being in it with a team

i like 2 days too, grenv, for the same reason! Internet can be spooty at times here in Korea. I've had a tech over at my crib thrice in 2 months.

Temo, Antje: sorry, harley and bobes got to me first. I *could* leave the tank battle team, but I onlly would if the Sunshine Club tank battle team had enough members and the other team didn't. I'm not good at tank anyway, i'd just be a body!

    Subject: Re:
Problem with one day, even for us faster players, is time outs. I had a freak day last week and didnt access the web for over a day, and got timed out of 5 games in a 1 day tournament.

I mean, you can play 25 moves pergame per day, but if you miss one day, you are out.

    How about 2 days then?

It would be nice to have some sort of overall game limit, or sometging of the like.....hopefully someday :)

    Subject: Just curious...
The first team tournament went off at 3 days per move. The new ones are all at 5 days per move. Why the change? It seemed like the participation in the first one was high. I havent heard anyone talking about a massive amount of time outs from any games. # days seems like a good middle of the road time limit that should work for everyone. Or maybe 5 days and deactivate the weekends? As it is, a 5 day tournament game can last 420 days for a 30 move game, plus vacation time, and holidays.

I think that team tournaments should be under 1 year in length, for the whole tournament, not 1.15 years+ just for one game. Our memberships are only good for a year, we should be able to play a team tournament, and have it finish within a year.

I vote for 3 days team tournaments, that is plenty of time....
