Well....Gus-Gus went over the trap...he was getting onto my nightstand and getting to close for comfort for me..I know they are cute but they also carry diesaese and didn't want him in the houe any longer then he had to be.Wouldn't use poiseon cuz he could run off and die in a wall or summin...ewwww,lol...Hubby said we had to use glue traps...GAWD I HATE THOSE THINGS!! they are horrible...we got rid of Gus-Gus tho...I guess death in any form is ugly

Jim Dandy: OMG! That was TOOOOO funny!!!   I have often thought (but would NEVER do lamby, lol) what Damien would be like cloned...would he be Damien,or not be Damien...just to weird of a concept there for me,lol...

I watched Vick at half-time during the game give his..I am so sorry speach..not only did he not apoligize to the animals lovers...but what about his own family?? I heard not one time that he was sorry for discracing them as well.....all tho his Mum thinks he has suffered enough..Let me in a room with him for 10 minutes...he will know excatly what those dogs felt..AGH! makes my blood pressure go up just thinking about that man! I had to get up and leave the room because I couldn't stand the sound of his voice anymore.I hope he suffers.

Tuesday: Oh dear Lord..I cannot believe that woman would BRAG about that....for petes sake..not tlike she was protecting her kids from a wild rabid mountain lion!! which...btw...IF I am ever out hiking and get killed by one...somebody PLEASE let the authorities know I do NOT want the cat killed,lol....I am in his nieghborhood.

I heard Vick's Mom said that her son has found God now and that he should be forgiven...I am NOT even going to go there because of the kinds of discussion it might bring up BUT ....just because someone says they suddenly change, they should be forgiven and all is forgotten?? PLEASE!!I agree Tuesday that if you can do that to a defensless animal....something that is totally 100% dependant on you for help and food and love and protection,I feel that person is MORE then capible of doing something horrific to a person....Isn't there some study that says about serial killers being known for torturing and killing animals as a prequil (sp) to hurting humans???

srnity: I had decide to finish reading the posts and then go back and watch the video BUT after reading the posts of those of you who DID watch..I feel no need to go back and click the link.Throwing any animal into a situation is cruel...If the cats had gone in on their own then that is different.

When Damien was going through his fear stage, for some reason a HUGH fear were manhole covers (I dunno either, lol) but I never FORCED him to go next to them.He got over it tho,thankfully,lol...point is that I didn't FORCE him to do something like I am guessing the cats were forced into the water.Thats just stupid.

I do train humanly...ONLY positive reinforcment for my animals..if they are having a bad day then off the field we go so I don't get upset..I need and WANT everything to stay fun for my animals....They absolutly LOVE to please me on the field and the way I feel about them, the bonding I have with them I cannot put into words...Thank you Srnity for your kind words :)

Tuesday: Sheperds in general are working dogs...they herd,protect,gaurd,etc,etc....Mine are being trained in Schutzhund..which is tracking, obidiance, and protection..alot like the police dog training. It is an awesome sport and we absolutly adore doing it..the bonding I have with Damien on the field is incredible!! He is going for his first title this Oct. his AD..it is a 12.5 mile endurance run in which he runs along side a bike I am riding...2 15 minute rests along the way.He will (the same weekend) go for his conformation title....then in Nov.I am going to try to get his Bh (which is a basic obidiance title all schutzhund dogs need in order to advance in compition) and possibly his watchdog or first tracking title on him!!

Tuesday: Yep..Niki is another sheperd..her and Damien are getting along very well..he snapped at her 2 times now...one was because those lil needle teeth REALLY got him..he just snapped, never made contact and then another was over food...He didn't snap, just gave a low growl (she had already eaten in her crate and then wanted HIS food too!!) I went over and gave the corection because I thought that he may be a bit to hard on her with that one.OTHER then that,lol..he plays tug all the time and lets her win alot actaully. He will lay down and let her climb on him and bite at his ears..He will roll her over and run away and she gets her lil self up and runs right after him..she is a hellcat, lol.DEFINATLY has her Mom's drive..she will make an AWESOME working dog when she gets on the field! I took her tracking for the first time yesterday..just a small 10 pace track, lol. She is really cool!! Als took her to the vet she is a very petite 10.7 pounds at 8 weeks of age...Damien was 10 pounds at 6 weeks, lol. They are both napping now that is why I jumped online for a minute,LOL!!

I wanted one from the shelter (have had several and they are WONDERFUL dogs!!) but the kennal master where we got Damien from talked my husband out of it...(we were GOING to get Damien,no question about that..but we were also going to get a second dog around the same time..and I wanted a shelter dog) GRRR! I do not regret Damien in anyway shape or form BUT I really would have like to have given him a lil sissy from the shelter.I am glad their are people out there that will!! Damien's new lil sister is also not a shelter dog BUT I know that we will give her a wonderful home with lots of love and excercise and training (and dog cookies,LOL!!!)

Tigger: I agree..I really don't think that he will get off to light..ok maybe no jail time (which he should die in there as fas as I am concerned) but Tigger has it right..public opinion is 100% against him..e-mails,pickiting,and public out-cry has been the MAJOR forces behind his endorsments being pulled.I am sure that his suspention from the NFL will soon follow.I think he should be made to volunteer at animal clinics/shelters untill the day he dies. The things he is said to have done to those dogs..he and the OTHERS...don't forget their are others involved that must also be punished......is unforgivable.

Subject: Michael Vick updtae

Following tens of thousands of e-mails to Nike, as well as PETA protests outside <span>Niketown stores calling on the company to cut ties with Michael Vick in light of horrific allegations of his involvement with dogfighting rings, Nike has released the following statement:

"Nike has suspended Michael Vick's contract without pay, and will not sell any more Michael Vick product at Nike-owned retail at this time."

Thanks to all of you for writing to the company about this issue—this couldn't have happened without your support.

Reebok has also made the decision to stop sales of Michael Vick apparel, stating:

"While we respect the legal process we find the allegations against Mr. Vick too disturbing to ignore, therefore, we have decided to immediately suspend selling Vick NFL product, both at retail and online through the Reebok website."

This is great news for anyone who is concerned about cruelty to animals. But we still need your help! Please <span>click here to ask the NFL to follow Nike’s lead and suspend Michael Vick immediately.

Thank you for all that you do for animals

SEAWOLF2: Actually,if you read studies about wild wolves they do eat berries and other such things that contain natural sugars. They have also been noted to eat certain plants..thus deriving the "raw" diet that has become so popular (not among myself tho)

Also...it's a popsickle..not like I am throwing a cup of sugar down my dogs throat..he gets ice cream,ONE SCOOP every now and again...it has NOT effected his bowel movements because I do not give him that much at a time..thanks for your concern, but trust me..I am NOT going to feed a $2,000.00 dog somthing that is going to kill him

Bernice: Damien is a plain Jane with his dry Royal Canine formula for GSD.I try to introduce him to new flavors but he really just has no desire.Which I suppose is actaully fine with me,less chance of an upset tummy.I do use hotdogs during training because I hold the pieces in my mouth and reward him that way..also sometimes use liver but that DOESN'T go in my mouth, almost threw up the one time I tried it,LOL!!

He gets a popsickle everynight, any flavor makes him happy but he really seems to like the Red,White, and Blues that we buy.

He will get vanilla ice cream maybe 3 times a year BUT he gets walked or goes on a run everyday and trains hard at the club 2 times a week. Our vet...who,in his opinion says that every dog can stand to lose 5 pounds,lol....says that Damien looks great!! and he does (NOT just saying that cuz I am his Mommy either, lol)

Bernice: Damien needs to know the difference between barking at the fence because I am in the house and he is outside and he needs to "protect" and when I am standing out by it talking to the nieghbor.Your dog first need a VERY good grip on the basic sit command....I found that when Damien would go running up to the fence like a fruitloop...I would grab his kong (his absolute FAVORITE toy) walk over to him...stay calm, and very matter of fact with him...I would step into his view and tell him to sit..if he kept barking I would grab his collar and lead him away from the fence..tell him again to sit.If he did it he got his kong (but I wouldn't let go of it) I would keep the string in my hand..tell him good boy..pet him up..let him know THAT is what I wanted.I would start to talk to the nieghbor..still with the kong in his mouth and me playing with him..then I would give the out command and tell him O.K..to let him know he was relised from the sit..if he choose to hang out with me and want the kong to play then after one more sit (he works for everything he gets) he would get the kong free and clear to go play..if he chose to go back to the fence..the excercise would start over from square one.Honestly..if you can get a friend to help you do this..he will learn alot faster!! I agree 110% with srnity...you have to do this over and over and over..he will get it,it just takes time and ALOT of patience on your part,lol.Now...When the nieghbor walks up to the fence...Damien will run over and bark a few times..look back at me...if I command him away from the fence then he will come to my side or go get his toy.Good luck and let us know how it goes :)

If you have any animal that is able to get to your screens in your window..PLEASE take note that they can EASILY go through them!! My husband and I left the house the other day without Damien but we were in Damien's car..(yes he has a his own car, lol) anywho...he knws that when we go somewheer in his car it is either to traing,a walk,or tracking. He was so desperate to come with us that he jumped onto the couch and right through the screen! We had no idea this had happened!! THANK GOD that he wondered into our niehbor's yard and was seen. The nieghbor brought him back over and put him in the garage.Now...German Shepards are naturally cautious of people they don't know well..he knows our nieghbor, but not well...but because of his training and us socializing him since the time he was 6 weeks old..he overcame his cautiousness and went with the nieghbor back to the house.PLEASE DO NOT leave windows fully up if you leave the house..take it from me...they WILL go through them!!

Subject: help stop the seal hunt!!
It's that time of year again: The ice floes off the Canadian coast are about to turn red with the blood of the countless baby harp seals who are slaughtered for their fur.

Words cannot describe the cruelty of the annual seal "hunt," which is really more of a massacre and will begin in just a few days. To stop this yearly atrocity, we must generate an international outcry against the Canadian government. I hope that you will support PETA's public call for an end to this slaughter by immediately taking two important actions:
Sign PETA's international petition to Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Our goal is to gather signatures from more than 50,000 people who want to tell the prime minister that "fashion" is no justification for spilling baby seals' blood.

Support PETA's efforts to stop the slaughter of baby seals and the use of all animals for fur. Your online donation will bring more pressure to bear on the Canadian government and the international fur trade.
Canada's annual seal hunt is the largest slaughter of marine animals on Earth. Last year, more than 330,000 baby harp seals were beaten to death so that they could be made into fur coats, collars, and cuffs. The Canadian government claims that hunters only kill adult seals, but 97 percent of the seals killed last year were less than 3 months of age.

Most of these seals are too young to realize that they should try to escape when their killers approach. They lie totally vulnerable on the ice as their heads are bashed in with clubs. Many are dragged across the ice—still conscious—with boat hooks. Often these sensitive animals are skinned alive for their fur. Their bodies are left to rot on the ice because there is no market for their meat.

The Canadian government has authorized hunters to kill more than 335,000 harp seals this year—one of the largest quotas in history. There is no place in the 21st century for this wanton and frivolous cruelty. Canada must end this abomination, but it will take a lot of pressure to compel the government to stop the hunt.
PLEASE!!!! go to peta's website and sign the petition to help try and stop this hunt!!!
