I had Chess game (#3888398) where opponent was to time out today in a losing position (move #30). The game is now vanished without a trace!! Not on my games in progress or in my completed games (win, lose, or draw). Can someone please explain?

o.k. maybe I can answer my own question. As soon as I returned to main page after posting previous post, I had message that opponet ran out of time. Must be the game enters a split second void aas it expires. LOL

vertigo, once a game as finished there can be a period of up to an hour (I believe) before it registers on your game sheet and you receive a message. The system updates evry so often, so notifications are not instant.

The disorientation I encounter in regular play, coupled with looking for games the very moment they are timing out, lends ample justification!!

When I look at online players it never says "writing in notepad", why's that?

ok...I can get in here,loonies,and Immortals...but cant play games,send a message(to complain to Fencer) or get to any other discusion boards.I shut down and restarted...but brainking is the only place I'm having trouble:(

I know of one other person having similar problems, a webTV user. Maybe thats the problem?

I wonder if it has something to do with all the storms?

I don't think there has been many around bwild..... other than the ones he caused. :p

There are a few other webtv-ers having problems.. For some reason, though, I'm not having ANY problems at all.

There were a bunch of us webtvers having lots of problems, but it seems to be cleared up now, somehow, except for white screens after each move played...

There is no change and no problem on BK side. We continuously monitor all activity and there was no downtime, no line malfunction, no power outage. Of course, we cannot be responsible for problems outside BrainKing.

Fencer's getting pretty good at that administration stuff. The only evidence I see that he's not an expert at it yet (*wink*) is that he still treats us lowly users like real human beings!

The problem was MSN as I had a hard time with other sites as well last night. However later in the night it was ok.

Ellieoop lives in an area of Florida that was hit by the hurricane. She is currently without power, and may be for some time.

If she times out on any games you are playing with her, I hope you will give her the chance to have them restored when her power is returned. Thanks.

Is there anyway that Fencer could give her a couple of vacation days maybe? I mean because it is known what is going on and all..... I would gladly donate one or two of mine if it would help.

She told me she was going to set a few days up for vacation before the storm hit, just in case. It looks like she did, but there is no telling when her power will be back on.

We'll just have to wait and see. I mostly just wanted everyone to understand that any games she times out in, isn't her fault.

Yes Fencer feel free to take some of my vacation days I think I have over 20days left. And let Ellieoop know that her and her family will be in my prays. I for 1 hope she has not lost everything. I do know what that is like.

I've have not personally heard from her, but have heard that there is some damage to her home, I don't know how much. But they are ok, and that is what is important.

It is very difficult for everyone here now all over the state. Most of us have found or over the last couple of days that we have friends and/or family homeless. Almost everyone here is without electricity. It is difficult for people to get to the places where they are handing out drinking water, ice for coolers and food. Gasoline lines are long for those that are lucky enough to have vehicles in workable condition, when you happen to run across a station that does have electricity and has not been blown away.

Lots and lots of help has been sent into this area, and I assume others. The Red Cross, the National Guard, electric crews from all over have come to help, but it is going to take lots of time.

It is extremely emotionally draining on everyone here, but we will all do what we have to in order to get through it ourselves and to help others in our community that haven't been as luck as a few of us are.

If all you want is to play then play, don't read fellowship messages if they bother you. I am much more annoyed by messages posted that have nothing to do with the topic.

vitalik, I understand what you say and agree with you. I go into them if the subject is one I am interested in and then I see what you see, postings that have nothing to do with the topic, are annoying and are just messages to start trouble with other players. So, you and I are thinking the same. Thanks for your comments.

Yea, people like that are a real pain. What are worse are people who spam the message boards - espically on boards which are total off subject.

Big Bad Wolf, I am sorry and it will not happen again. I thought maybe my opinion about peace and love to all was worth something and wanted everyone to see it. I shall watch my etiquette more carefully from now on and maybe keep my opinions to myself. Did not mean to start anything. I thought it might help; instead it is causing more problems. how does some1 get the red number off the games played after u have moved all ur turns? I did look at the bug list and I guess I don't know how to use it to find out how to fix bugs.

I reported this sometime ago. Was told to go to the bug tracker. I did and couldn't fix it. It did n't give enough instructions on how to use, or I guess i'm just a dummy. :o) Anyway i've gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me like it did at first.

There is no way to fix it yet - that is why it is a bug.

The bug tracker is there to keep "track" of all current bugs. Once a bug is fixed, it will be closed in the Bug Tracker
